Great budget stay with easy access to Old Quebec City

Good location with easy and accurate check-in information. Parking is very convenient just across the street and they provide a coupon. Safe area and a security building. Basic accommodation but clean, quiet and well run. Résidences Université du Québec provides useful guides to local dining, transportation, maps and attractions. Great local dining options nearby and was not far from the main train station Gare du Palais. Easy access to visit Old Quebec City either walking or a nearby bus. We enjoyed walking. which allows you to get to know the local area vs only tourist sections. Local buses are very slow due to stops, but very reasonable. Took 80 Place Jacques-Cartier (Sud) bus (every 30 minutes) from the Quebec City airport after returning our car to the Résidences Université du Québec. The bus dropped us only a few blocks away at Dorchester, which takes an hour but costs $3 vs $30-$45 for a rideshare.
Don't hesitate to book Résidences Université du Québec if a clean, basic accommodation works for your trip.

Extremely Disappointing

The cancelation policy was misleading on booking.com and even though it showed up under 'free cancelation' they did not even consider a partial refund despite a medical emergency and requesting almost a week before arrival, despite the property being in demand. Smacks of highly commercial perspective and takes away from the veneer of politeness they attempt to exude. Gone are the days of customer sensitivity. Managers sound like bots.

VERY LARGE STUDIO ROOM WITH PRIVATE BATHROOM, CLEAN AND VERY WELL LOCATED. SUPER COMFORTABLE. RECOMMENDED.

The information they sent me a week before admission, with the keys to access the building and the room, was the clearest I have received so far, with photographs illustrating the step by step. Few accommodations have explained it so clearly. Also, the ways to get there by taxi, bus or on foot. Its location is very good, 850 meters from the Gare du Palais and the Legislative Assembly. Since Quebec is a small city, I only took public transportation once to see some of its attractions. Very spacious studio apartment with full kitchen, air conditioning, TV, private bathroom with many amenities and good water pressure, 2-seater bed, very clean. Blackout curtains actually prevent light from entering. At 130 meters there is a minimarket and several restaurants. The bus stop 80 that goes to the airport is 550 meters away. It was recess time so there were almost no students. A little expensive, but it is the price of the city in general. Taking that into account, the price-quality ratio is acceptable. Highly recommended for 2 or 3 nights.

Great Modern Apartment

Great modern apartment , very spacious with all mod cons.
Laundry facilities available in basement at extra notional charge.
Bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk.
City centre about 20 mins walk.
Only downsides , front desk only open 10 - 4
Very steep 5 minute walk up to bars and restaurants
