Comfortable, Warm, and Feels Like Home!
We selected Harbourside Inn based on reviews posted on TripAdvisor and other travel sites, and we're glad we did. We knew we would be visiting slightly before the tourist season began and had seen several comments indicating they remained open during the shoulder season—which proved to be true. Booking online was simple, and we appreciated that payment was collected at check-in rather than at the time of booking.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Tanya, one of the owners, who graciously gave us a tour of the house. She showed us the inviting common area, complete with comfortable furniture, a television, microwave, coffee station, and refrigerator. It was a wonderful space to relax, especially on a rainy Newfoundland afternoon—and since it was early in the season, we had a few of those.
Tanya then showed us our room, which was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, before introducing us to the dining room where breakfast is served. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that guests can select breakfast from a menu and choose their preferred serving time. As early risers, we happily chose the 6:30 a.m. option. A very nice touch.
She also took time to recommend local attractions and restaurants, including the Bonavista Brewing Taproom, which turned out to be one of our favorite stops. We were visiting primarily to photograph puffins in Elliston and the Bonavista Lighthouse, so having additional suggestions for things to see and do was greatly appreciated, particularly this early in the season.
The following morning, we met Brad, co-owner and trained chef, who prepared an excellent breakfast. Be sure to try the blueberry pancakes—they alone are almost worth the drive to Newfoundland. Brad also spent time sharing additional recommendations for the area, and we appreciated the local knowledge provided by both owners.
Parking is conveniently located across the street. There is a concrete stairway leading to the porch and entrance, as well as stairs to the second floor. Neither presented any difficulty for us—and that's coming from a pair of septuagenarians who have learned to appreciate elevators whenever possible.
One of the great advantages of staying at a bed and breakfast is the opportunity to meet fellow travelers. Conversations over breakfast or in the common room often lead to valuable tips about local attractions and hidden gems throughout Newfoundland. We found these exchanges to be both enjoyable and informative.

We highly recommend Harbourside Inn and wish Tanya and Brad continued success. If your travels bring you to the Bonavista Peninsula, you can expect a comfortable stay, excellent hospitality, and a breakfast worth getting up early for.

Gem in Port Union
Lovely historical inn located in Port Union across the street from a bay. We had booked 2 rooms for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay. The rooms were nicely furnished, decorated with local art and ensuites were large with plenty of hot water. There was a display of local crafts and artwork for sale downstairs. We had a choice of chef prepared breakfasts in the morning which were delicious. Fresh and local. Our host Brad was entertaining telling us stories of the area. We noted Brad was working on upgrading the outside of his inn with sod, landscaping, and adding a path from the parking on the side of the building. We used Port Union as a base to visit Bonavista and Trinity but found the Main Road in Port Union had a very interesting museum and gift shop. This museum is included as a stop on bus tours and well worth visiting. There was also an historical home/museum worth the visit.

Great BnB with outstanding harbour views. friendly and accommodating hosts who have thought about all your needs plus an executive chef to cook you a magnificent breakfast

Our hosts - Brad & Tanya - were completely at our service! Can't say enough good things about them and their B&B! Brad is a chef who creates your breakfast when you come downstairs so it's FRESH! We hope to come back!

Amazing stay
We had a fabulous stay for 2 nights July 4th and 5th.The best hosts ever and the brk meal was amazing. We stayed due to a family wedding on the 5th and most rooms were filled with our family. The next morning they had the dining room tables put together so we could sit together. Not 1 negative thing I can say about our stay.I highly recommend this place.
