One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Breakfast was excellent as well. Truly enjoyed our stay.

Air conditioner in room was extremely loud, children slept poorly and were woken up multiple times because of it.
Goose poop all over the property.
Change room floor was very slippery. Child fell on way to the pool.

Loved the hotel. Beds and the room was comfortable. Most of the hotels we have stayed in have gone to dispensers in the bathroom for soaps and stuff. They give you one tiny bottle of soap not big enough for my hair (and I have a brush cut) let alone my wife’s hair. We were so use to the other hotels that we didn’t bring any shampoos or stuff. So we ended up hunting for a place that was open to buy some. Other than that the hotel and staff were great.

Hair and Disappointment

Stayed at the Best Western Otonabee from Aug 7 to Aug 9. After a long day of travel we wanted to shower and were met with hair in the tub and on the walls from the previous guests. We rinsed the tub out the best we could so we could get quick showers in without paying to much attention to our surroundings. We mentioned it to front desk the next morning as we found it unappetizing to shower in someone elses hair specifying there was still hair on the walls. We asked if they could give the shower a good look when they passed for housekeeping. We even mentioned it to housekeeping as we were leaving for the day and they said they would take care of it. Once back from another day out and about, we were met with all the hair in the exact same spots. Mentioned it again to the front desk the next morning and again nothing was done. We understand we are not staying at a 5-star establishment, but when the bare minimum is being done and the hotel is charging over $200 a night, you question if they care more about their profits or the people paying for the rooms. We can only imagine where else the bare minimum is being done around the hotel, but we'd rather not think about it too much. To the next guests staying in room 219, keep an eye out for hair on the walls of the shower. It's likely still there.

Me and my partner stayed in the Premier Suite 122. It was excellent! Barely any noise from other guests (even being near the breakfast area). The breakfast itself was fine, and there was always a variety of items to choose. Everything in the room was clean!!! And well maintained. The AC and fireplace both worked really good once we figured them out. The jetted tub was very soothing. We tried out the pool and hot tub as well, they met our needs. The room itself was a little dated in decor, but it was very spacious and comfortable. Very handy having our own sink, microwave and fridge. It was also nice having our own deck we could walk off of and down to the dock and watch the wildlife. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We were even granted a late check out we requested. I would definitely recommend a stay at the Best Western Otonabee. Get the Premier Suite if you can!
