The best thing about this place was the staff. They were so friendly and helpful. The property was very clean and well maintained.
Excellent amenities.
Charming town and everything was walkable which was convenient.
Excellent restaurants.
We had 2 cleaning sessions while there. The first was a lady and she was superb. The second was a guy and he wasn’t so good.

Poor customer service
I previously gave this hotel a glowing five-star review. After our most recent experience, I will not return.
We booked a weekend to celebrate a birthday. An extraordinarily loud party event at the business next door to the hotel made sleep impossible. At 2:00 a.m., after enduring it for more than four hours, we finally gave up. I then had to scramble, in the middle of the night, to find somewhere — anywhere — we could sleep. After searching for 40 minutes, the only suitable accommodation I could find required a 30-minute drive to Sherbrooke.
The response afterward was almost as disappointing as the night itself. The hotel disclaimed responsibility and offered compensation that did not even cover the emergency accommodation we were forced to find — meaning we actually paid considerably more for a birthday weekend that had already been ruined. Most remarkably, the hotel responded that, because I had stayed there previously, I was “familiar with the location of our hotel and its surroundings” — seemingly suggesting that I should somehow have anticipated being unable to sleep because of an event next door.
My request for a telephone call was ignored, as was my request that the matter be referred to the General Manager or owner.
Things can go wrong at any hotel. The real test is how management responds when they do. This hotel had every opportunity to turn a terrible experience around. Instead, its response ensured that two previously enthusiastic customers will never return.

Room 208 had an excellent view of the marina and a small balcony where you could see the fireworks show.

The first night was great. Great location, clean and great view! The 2nd night was horrific because we were awaken at 11:30 at night thinking there was a party going on in the unit below us. It was actually the microbrasserie/pub next door that was blasting music until 3AM. Thinking it was in our building, we called the off hours number and were told there was nothing that could be done. Once we did get to sleep, we were soon awaken by the train that goes through in the early morning hours blaring their horn as they pass through the road crossing right next to the pub that was blasting music earlier. Needless to say, it’s difficult to sleep at this property. We loved Magog and may return in the future, but certainly can’t recommend this property.

Noisiest Place I Have Ever Stayed
Too bad you can’t get any sleep here due to the extremely loud, pulsating club dance music between 11:00 PM-3:00 AM coming from the “microbrasserie/pub”next door and the associated throngs of screaming teens that are directly below your window, if you are on the river side of the building, not to mention the train horn that blasts at 4:00 AM when the train passes through each night. I called the late night contact number about the loud music because we thought it was a large party in one of the rooms below us - it is that loud! She told me there was nothing that could be done, that in fact the bar next door could be open until 3:00 AM and that they could do whatever they wanted to. We were told by front desk staff when we checked in that we had one of the best rooms because we had a great view of the lake. Little did we know that the premium we were paying to enjoy that view was not only a higher rate, but also giving up a night’s sleep. If you could block out the noise (you can’t, no matter what you try) this place ticks all the other boxes for location, walkability, and cleanliness - those poor boxes “Comfort” and “Sleep Quality” remain unchecked. This hotel had come highly recommended by a friend that had stayed in November so I guess the time of year for your stay is a crucial factor in whether you will be able to sleep or not. We really enjoyed Magog and would like to come back some day. Unfortunately, it won’t be to stay at the Hotel Quartier des Marinas and we certainly can’t recommend it to anyone else either. If you made it this far into the review, apologies for the length, but hey, I was awake with nothing else to do.
