Wonderful Hotel, Friendly Staff and Great Location

We stayed at Uno Port for 2 nights when we arrived in Japan on our first trip. We are a family of 4 with 2 young daughters, 10 and 8. Before arriving the staff helpfully arranged a taxi to collect us from the airport as we knew we would be exhausted from 24 hours of travel. Our room was much bigger than we had expected - we had the room with the terrace which worked well for us as I could read my book in the early morning (4am!!, thanks jet lag) whilst the others slept. There's a 7 Eleven next door so we were able to get breakfast and dinner from there and eat on the balcony.
There wasn't a huge amount of storage space but as it was only 2 nights it didn't matter to us. I was worried about the bathrooms being separate but this proved not to be an issue for us either. We felt very safe in the hotel so our eldest was able to go by herself.
The onsite laundry facilities were really helpful as I had forgotten to pack socks for the kids! Much cheaper than any other hotels we stayed at during our trip too. There was a water cooler and tea and hot water available which was great at 4am when I was wide awake and needed a hot drink. Also a fridge in the room so we could get milk from downstairs for the early morning tea.
I would absolutely return to this special place - the closeness to the port made it the perfect base for exploring Naoshima and the other islands. The staff were so warm and friendly and helped with all our questions.
Thank you to all the staff for making the start of Japan adventure such a fantastic experience. We can't wait to come back one day.

Wonderful stay

We loved our tatami/futon room - stayed with our baby and had the most restful time. Will be back for sure the next time we are in the area. Thank you to the lovely team - you've got a beautiful thing going on there.
