Difficult but very enjoyable stay

The staff of the hotel (older japanese couple) speaks little to none English, but I had great time anyway. The hotel is very small, but rooms are spacious tatami rooms with everything you need. I didn't book any meals but Mrs. Kobayashi provided some free food anyway. Mr. Kobayashi was driving me around when I needed.
Bath is a traditional japanese style shared bath with bigger bath filled with hot water. The drawback is that the bath is heated up only once a day and the water gets colder in the late evening.
There are many beautiful attractions nearby the hotel. Ice and Wind cave and all Fuji lakes are closeby. Mt. Fuji can be seen from most of the rooms of the hotel and the view is really majestic. There is a really nice hot spring (onsen) just 20 minutes walk from the hotel nearby a road station. I recommend stopping there for a bath and then ice cream at the road station. View of the Mt. Fuji from the onsen and delicious sakura flavour ice cream!
The location is not the best, since it is far from Kawaguchiko town and there are not enough buses during the day. Car or bike is recommended, but the way from the town back to the village is almost 100% uphill.

Inaccessible hotel and lack of transport

I booked this place on booking.com. The owner doesn't speak much English and this made transactions difficult. The website says 10 minutes from kawaguchiko station .. But the buses are like 2 hours apart, running late and are very few . There are no restaurants or conbinis within walking distance of hotel so I had to go back to kawaguchiko station for water or food. Very inaccessible overall ! Not worth the stay !

いなかのおばあちゃんの家

鳴沢界隈のゴルフ場へのアクセスは最高に良いですが、繁華街へのアクセスは良くありません。付近には良いゴルフ場が複数あるので泊まりでゴルフ合宿する人にはオススメです。元気なおかみさんもゴルフ好きらしく、ゴルフ談義に花が咲きます。
一泊５０００円ほどで宿泊できるので部屋もそれなりですが、掃除は行き届いています。合宿所だと思って行くとちょうど良い設備、セキュリティー、雰囲気です。
部屋からは富士山がどーんと見えて気分が上がります。部屋には冷房がありませんが快適に寝られました。トイレ、洗面所は共同です。冷蔵庫は共同なのかな？廊下に一台ありますが、部屋にはついていませんでした。近くの道の駅に日帰り温泉のゆらりがあるので、そちらもオススメです。
