From January 18th, we started using it with two meals per night. The food and hot springs are the best!
I received a lift discount ticket for the ski resort.

Lovely family run Ryokan

Stayed 2 nights as part of a tour group hiking the Shin-Etsu trail. Excellent family run small ryokan, simple rooms and a small onsen bath to relax. Fabulous kaiseki food, mostly locally grown and served so beautifully. Lovely family run and highly recommended

Super relaxing home from home

We arrived here, still jet-lagged and after a tough walk. In the countryside, surrounded by rice fields, it's a real haven, with extremely friendly hosts, a large room, comfy futon and a great little Onsen. The food is very good, and the service great. A real highlight of our short stay.

Charming & excellent food

The host and her daugther-in-law make a charming couple. Energetic, helpful, extremely service minded, yet no-nonsense.
Together they run the show (the husbands are sports instructors and farmers). It was great fun to help them in the fields, to make mountain sushi, and to be spoiled with dishes made with home-grown veggies. Superb!
The rooms are japanese style, and basic. A small indoor onsen serves as a common bathroom. No problem.

Friendly, clean, comfortable

Kumi-san is a wonderful host-ess owner of this delightful rural ryokan. We stayed for four nights during the Golden Week, a very busy time, but we were well cared for the entire time by the whole family. We arrived and left by train, but we were always given transport to and from the station, including our day trips whilst there. On the days we went walking in the nearby mountain trails we were supplied with a box lunch of onigiri and fruit for our picnic. The evening kaiseki dinners were marvels of local produce and flavours and in the morning, breakfast was always satisfying for starting our day right. We enjoyed relaxing in the onsen daily. Falling asleep to the soothing orchestral songs of the frogs through our open windows was a treat I will long remember.
