Beautiful place to stay in Kinsale

The Trident Hotel is a beautiful place. Upon arrival, we were notified we had been upgraded to a junior suite, which was a wonderful surprise. The rooms are very classy and air-conditioned, which was a bonus on a hot day. The staff is top-notch. Everybody we interacted with was helpful and nice. Everything was clean, and the shower was amazing. We ate somewhere in town but popped into the restaurant for a drink on the way back to the room, and the place was hopping. They have a sister hotel, The Acton, down the street, which has a gym, pool, sauna, etc. We were only in town for one night so we didn't get a chance to check that out, but nice to know it's available. Would absolutely stay here again if we make it back to Kinsale. The trip to Charles Fort was fun and informative as we headed out of town.

Good hotel

A bit pricey for the services available, it’s likely the location that up the prices.
We booked a panoramic view room. The room was clean. The windows could be kept cleaner to fully enjoy the view.
Overall it’s a good hotel at a great location.

August stay

Very enjoyable stay. Hotel very clean & staff more than helpful. Breakfast could be ordered directly which was a lovely change to being carvery. Room (whilst not large) had a lovely view as did breakfast room. Staff offered a window seat in the sunshine! Would definitely return.

Pricey but pretty view

My son and I visited here as a stop along a weeklong trip, starting in Dublin and finishing in Limerick/Shannon. It's a quaint hotel. Front desk staff was professional. Beautiful view from our room! The beds were comfortable. Room's a little small and a tad worn, but very pretty decorations.
Daily workouts are important to me, and we had to walk to the sister property to use their facility which was okay. Fortunately, the weather cooperated and it was a reasonably short walk. Staff over there was friendly. It's hot in the gym, but gave me a jumpstart on the sweat session.
We did very much enjoy the hotel breakfast that was included. Parking spaces are narrow, and I heard that they run out of space so I was hesitant to move my vehicle after we checked in. Good dinner was difficult to find as we found the onsite restaurant crowded and went walking into town, only to find a lot of places were closing. My son ended up getting pizza from a local place that had the rudest worker I've ever encountered in my life, so I decided to fast that evening. That's separate from the hotel and was my own fault for thinking the area was a little more bustling than it was. For these reasons, I don't have a strong desire to return to Kinsale. The hotel cost a lot for what you get, and I would've liked to get more out of the overall experience.

Not Perfect , some rooms are better than others.

Stayed 2 nights midweek. Picked a double on the 3rd floor with a harbour view (309). The room was nice, well decorated and the view was great. Issues were, squeaky floor, a difficult shower control, the pillows were pure fluff-no support (poor sleep). The room was about a bit tight. Other than that, the staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was one of the best ever. We did "mention " the squeaky floor to the receptionist and were given a big smile and a "sorry". Overall it was a pleasant stay but definitely not 5 Stars.
