Who wants to come down is right here . Pure peace very great otherwise scooter or taxi and everything is perfect

A pearl in northern Bali!
A pearl in northern Bali !
We are very experienced in Indonesia and still very much in love with the country and people.
We have already lived and worked in Labuan Bajo for 4 years in the south, and have been coming to the north of Bali for holidays for several years now / annually.
Alam Mimpi is a very small, wonderfully maintained complex in Penuktuan. A magnificent garden surrounds the Resto, the pool and the bungalows.
Very familiar I would describe the dealings with the guests there. Actually, after almost 3 weeks we didn't want to leave. The team around Ibu Made and the daughter Dani is super diligent and very sensitive in all matters. My wife fell very clumsily while parking with the scooter, injuring her leg.
A trained nurse came through reception, stitched the leg, and checked it regularly every 3 days.
We really found that very warm, and also polite.
The restaurant in the hotel stands out from other hotels thanks to the Indonesian European Map.
The prices are also very moderate.
If something isn't on the menu, such as a burger in my case, just approach the staff, they pretty much set everything in motion:-)
The room was very clean and sufficiently spacious.
The large bathroom was also beautiful and completely tiled.
The massages offered by the hotel I can highly recommend, a little more expensive than outside, but there are decidedly only professionals from outside who have learned this.
Lunch was coffee time every day, and there was always something homemade to go with it. For diving I stayed at the neighboring hotel, there the Karang Divers Bali have a base.
Breakfast is also very variable with fresh juices, fresh fruit and various selections from fried pasta to mixed bread with homemade pineapple jam to scrambled eggs/omelette/pancake
Conclusion on Alam Mimpi: calm, soothing, familiar, attentive!
Under the guidance of Made and Nana, our stay was so perfect that we are just going back next year. Thank you very much for everything !

Amazing place
Alam Mimpi… what can I say? It’s amazing. It’s like coming home to family. In a beautiful part of Bali.
What they managed to create here is nothing short of amazing. You turn off the ‘main road’ down a small path leading you to the shore. I guarantee you that whilst you drive down, you will wonder about where you will wind up, but you shouldn’t worry. At the end, there is a beautiful little place called Alam Mimpi, and I still don’t understand how they’ve been able to built it here.
It’s a homely ‘mini resort’ with I believe 6 or 7 rooms. It has a pool of a decent size (not a lap pool) and every lounger is facing the ocean. Your blood pressure immediately improves the moment you enter. The smiles of the staff will make it drop even further.
The rooms are basic but fit for purpose. You don’t live in your room here. The entire place becomes your room. Each room has a terrace with a table and a comfy bench/sofa and by taking 10 steps you’re in a lounger watching the waves. Bed is not like a Hyatt or Marriott bed but I slept like a baby. Airco works well.. Bathroom is pretty and works ok (new shower heads would be nice), but again: jump in the pool.
I’m here with only 3 other people staying. I can imagine that a family with kids would have a big impact on the serenity but such is life. You could move to a gazebo though, which I think will more or less isolate you (while also watching the waves). The hotel is also extremely quiet (sound wise). All you will hear is waves. Love it.
Now, if you don’t have your own transportation, you are a bit stuck with what they have on offer. With a car or scooter there definitely is more variety. You can walk/hike to the neighboring hotel that has a restaurant though. If you don’t mind hiking. Takes 3 min.
But do you need to? Breakfast for one is great. They serve it either next to the kitchen in a mini restaurant setting or on your terrace. And it’s generous. If you stay longer I am sure you can have something different every day. Lunch and dinner at first seem a bit limited but so far, it has all been amazing. You order about 1 hr before you want to eat and it’s all prepared fresh and to your liking. They can mix it up a bit if you want. Just talk to the staff. I’ve included some pictures to take any worries away.
Cos lastly: the staff. They are wonderful. They feel more like family taking care of you. Their English is surprisingly good for the north and they genuinely seem to love the company. 5 o’clock they bring you tea/coffee and some snack and take your dinner order. If you need or want anything, just walk up to the office/kitchen.
All in all: perfect hideout or base for exploring the north. Especially if you have a car or scooter. If you don’t, you will still love it and your GP will thank you for taking care of your blood pressure.

Excellent hotel and wonderful stay
We stayed at Alam Mimpi for 2 weeks and will definitely come back.
The hotel:
Absolutely paradisiacal and authentic. Because there are only 6 bungalows, there are never many guests in the hotel. We were often alone in the hotel (very unusual but really great!). There are lots of flowers and plants in the garden, as well as a large pool - considering the size of the hotel. A hut for massages with a view of the sea, hammocks and a dining area are also available and very clean. From the pool you have a wonderful view of the sea. There is no sandy beach, but there is a reef right in front of the hotel. Perfect for snorkeling or diving (there is a cooperation with the diving center in the neighboring hotel).
The rooms:
The rooms in the bungalows are clean, large, cleaned every day and - if you are in the hotel - you are also asked if you can have them cleaned.
The staff:
The staff is ALWAYS extremely helpful, super friendly and speaks English. You always get a smile and they always try to fulfill all of the guests' wishes. In the afternoon there is always coffee and a small local snack, which is included in the price. Dinner is ordered a la carte in the afternoon at the time of the evening requested by the guest. The food tastes really good and is freshly made. At this point I can absolutely recommend the freshly mixed juices!!! The hotel manager comes to the hotel almost every day, sits down at the table with the guests and you can have very interesting conversations. If you want to explore the island, you can either do it on your own or with the hotel's own tour guide "Nana", who shows you the island in a minivan. There is never any time pressure at the various sights and he gives the guests as much time as they need to explore.

Beautiful boutique accomodation.
We stayed here for a night while on a motorbike ride. This is a boutique hotel with 5 rooms. It was immaculate and so clean. The 2 staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, overlooking the pool and ocean. There was not really any restaurants or cafes nearby but you can get all you need here. Our meals were cooked to order. We went for a walk around the neighbourhood and had a wonderful time chatting with the locals as we walked. I don’t think they get to see a lot of tourists, so make sure you step out and have a look around. A very clean neighbourhood. We would definitely stay here again. So relaxing.
