Perfect location at the Bromo volcano but hotel is a frader

The location of this hotel is truly perfect. It is ideal for an early morning walk to watch the beautiful sunrise at the volcano. Unfortunately, the location is also the only plus, because the hotel itself is very bad. On arrival we were received with lunch, which was chaotic. The food was not good and the staff clearly did not know what they were doing. The rooms are badly aged and a lot is broken. It is abundantly clear that no maintenance has been carried out here for a long time. The whole room is dirty. The bed was bad, mold in and around the plumbing. After our early walk we were looking forward to a good breakfast with a nice cup of coffee. Unfortunately, this was anything but. The breakfast was very poor, the assortment very limited and everything was utterly tasteless. We knew in advance that we would be staying in a basic basic hotel, but this was really far below basic. Very sorry about our experience in such a prime location. This hotel is absolutely not recommended.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in

Our stay at Permai 1 Bromo was more than disappointing. The hotel looks very nice from the outside and is fantastically located and overlooking Bromo. However, the rooms look p
extremely outdated and was in a very unclean condition upon our arrival. The rooms were dirty, damp and smelled unpleasant. The bed linen did not make a good impression, and the bathroom was unsanitary and moldy. My white socks were brown after going back and forth twice!
The staff seemed disinterested and little bothered. Always a slight smile from the staff. Especially as a woman I didn't feel comfortable there. All the sellers for hats and scarves were on the premises despite security and harassed the customers.
Even the food looked terrible and we had our dinner at Warung next door. Breakfast miserable: It was cold, tasteless and served in an unwelcoming dining room. Coffee, warm water, colder water, 3 types of fruit, soup with tofu, vegetarian pasta, rice eggs and chicken legs.
Toilets in the restaurant an imposition, dirty, full of creepers and smelled of urine.
Overall, the hotel lacks all comfort, hospitality and hygiene.
Compared to other properties in the region, this was by far our most negative experience. I cannot recommend this hotel – especially for travelers who expect cleanliness, friendliness and a minimum of quality

Bad hotel

Very bad hotel. Not clean, strongly dated. The beds are not comfortable. Doors and windows don't close properly. There's nothing else to do around here. The view should make up for everything but there are several other hotels nearby. Just avoid it!

Great location and perfect for a volcano stop

Lots of the reviews are pretty negative, but it is important to remember why someone would most likely stay here - to get up at 2am and go to see the volcano, then leave The hotel is basic, but we had a comfortable bed, hot shower and fine breakfast (after the volcano.) So for what most people need it for it is great, and not to be compared with other hotels.
