A secret paradise in Sanur
Villa Wantilan Putia is an incredible place to unwind and immerse yourself in the beauty of Balinese culture and nature. The combination of lush greenery, tranquil ponds, stunning infinity pool and the soothing ambiance of Balinese music created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing retreat.
The staff were attentive and dedicated to making our stay special. Those hidden gardens behind ancient Balinese doors are a magical escape.
We booked one week and then added an extra week with just a brief room change shows how much we enjoyed our time there.
The authentic architecture and design featured traditional elements like intricate wood carvings, using natural materials, only added to the charm and character of this place, we loved all of it
Our room in the main house had a super king-size bed a flatscreen television, tea and coffee facilities and A fridge, while the bathroom had a separate shower and toilet with very nice smelling toiletries. What made it was the private outdoor veranda with a koi pond which really did offer a serene escape. The presence of natural plants, like lilies, added to the tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for reading or simply taking a moment to breathe and unwind. It was the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the day’s adventures.
Breakfast on the beach was very good and just a short walk. Excellent coffee, poached eggs on toast and fruit was my favorite and. they were cooked to perfection
Al in all it was wonderful to stay in an environment that reflected the rich culture and heritage of Bali and I will certainly be returning when visiting Bali

Private green oasis hidden behind a beautiful rock wall and ancient wooden door
Love this place. My home away from home. Very private, close to the beach, restaurants and cafes. It’s a perfect place to have your family and friends around. There are private rooms adjacent to the main villa. Each with a private bathroom and balcony. Highly recommended!

Unusual and different, affordable luxury
I wanted beachfront but prices were above my budget, so I decided to try this place - happy to report it was great and I will definitely stay here again.
It's a very unusual property, with 5 rooms scattered over the extensive grounds (two in the main 'house') and doesn't appear to have been built as a standard accommodation, maybe extra accommodation for the nearby consulates originally?
You enter via a Balinese gate in the wall on Jalan Pantai Karang and across a lily pond. The grounds are huge, with large grassed areas and some gardens. The space feels luxurious compared to most other hotels and even villas.
I love the location - it's close to both the beach and the north end of Sanur's main street, and the street itself is quiet. Lots of shops and restaurants within a short walk. Three Monkeys and Batu Jimbar were two places where we liked the food.
We stayed in the family bungalow and it was lovely. It's set behind a small wall that blocks off the view from the other room nearby. It has the main room with comfy kingsized bed, walk in wardrobe and toilet, shower and vanity area, all stylishly finished to a good standard. The second bed is outside in a traditional hut. There is a sitting area with table and four chairs outside the front door.
The main bed looks out to the lily pond, which was so nice to wake up to.
The pool is quite large and has enough loungers.
Staff were always eager to help with whatever we needed.
There were a few minor points for improvement but they would definitely not prevent me staying here again, I really liked the property:
I don't know what the owners could do about it but the pool temperature was quite warm. I've noticed this a lot in Sanur so not just a problem here but it's not refreshing after a hard day's shopping.
The second bed in the family bungalow is a double bed in a traditional hut outside the main room and it's up a steep ladder so may not be suitable for smaller children. It did have a separate airconditioning unit so it was cool and had a couple of small windows but no facilities other than the ones in the main room.
The toilet - the toilet and shower are in the middle of the room and have concrete walls but these don't extend to the roof of the room, so there's not a lot of noise privacy when using the toilet. We used a white noise generator on our phones when needed ;)
Because of the ponds, there were quite a few mosquitoes here. However the room had fly screens on the front door and the window so we could have those open without any coming in.

Nice villa but disappointing breakfast
Very nice villa, quiet that allows to rest. Too bad it is not by the beach ... but 2 min walk.
The villa does not have a restaurant and breakfast is done in a cafe on the beach which is very “light”. Disappointing considering the price included in the night and what we could have in Bali

Oasis in Sanur
We loved this property and its caretakers. Positioned perfectly on JL Pantai Karang, a couple of minutes to the beach or JL Danau Tamblingan. Needs a couple of updates as most hotels post Covid do, but nothing major at all.
The gardens were spectacular and it was a quiet oasis. Will definitely stay again!
