This is what I was looking for.
I rented a bike here for a long term half a year ago. And after all this time I have not had a single dispute or issue with the owner. After half a year I decided to rent a villa with 2 bedrooms, saw a bunch of bad reviews, but took a chance. And you know what - I have not regretted it even once. An excellent old-school gentleman. If you are decent and minimally educated, you should not have any problems or issues with Daniel.
I will provide examples of positive communication here:
1. About the bike - he replaced the brake pads the next day after I contacted him about the squealing brakes. I took a bike more expensive than the rent from him, and we agreed that I would pay later in a week. I scratched the bike, and after taking photos and explaining that it was not my fault, Daniel did not charge me any money. I left with the wrong electronic key from him, and he sent me the correct key by courier at the same time as I noticed, at his own expense.
2. Villa - I moved into the villa before we signed the contract, payment was made through my company, only 2 weeks after check-in. All the features of the villa were explained at the first meeting. The villa is not new, but everything is washed, lots of furniture, dishes and towels, bed linen. As a construction engineer, I like its design and technical solutions.
I could not understand how the owner caused such a wave of negativity.
I rarely write reviews, but I was outraged by what I saw above.

A stay to forget...
I had high hopes for this hotel, but wow, was I let down. The room smelled faintly of wet socks, and I’m pretty sure the "complimentary breakfast" was just yesterday's leftovers microwaved to oblivion. The walls are so thin I could hear every word of the couple next door arguing about whether they should have stayed somewhere else (spoiler alert: they should have). And don't even get me started on the shower — it took ages to warm up, only to scald you randomly. The cherry on top? A mystery charge appeared on my bill that the staff seemed "too busy" to explain. Never again.

Bittersweet
I stayed at Villa Marene for 4 weeks with my 9yr old daughter. We stayed in villa 4, on the ground floor..it was NOT dirty NOR was the furniture broken..it was a great big room with everything my daughter and I could've needed and the bed was super comfy..the air con was cold, it has x2 fans a medium sized fridge and a smart tv..there is also a kettle 4 tea and coffee plus a safe..
wayan the lovely cleaning lady and the maintenance man are super helpful and very pleasant..
Betty the owners wife and their children are beautiful and couldn't be more helpful but YES be aware of Daniel..
most of the past reviews are correct..
however I never saw him drinking or drunk in the complex.
he was very pleasant 2 myself and my daughter until we left..
very helpful and very oblidging..
Then for some reason which I am unaware of because he won't reply 2 my txts.. he become cranky..
I noticed from the 1st day we moved in he needed to air his personal problems to us and everyone else which was very uncomfortable for all concerned...especially when he puts down his children in front of another person..specifically a mum..like me..
He was and is very cruel to them all including his wife but does it in a joking narcassitic way...
I found this very hard 2 deal with and did so throughout the 4 weeks we stayed there..
So did my daughter...who became very good friends with his children..
We all spent alot of fun times together including making cupcakes..
but the oven didn't or doesn't work apparently....???
He was everywhere we were, not being nice and not wanted and nowhere when u needed the gas changed or the water was empty..??? So I'm unsure of his agenda...
But i don't believe he liked our frienships at all...
He also had an issue with another guest and decided to yell and scream at them in front of everyone which was again completely uncalled for and very uncomfortable for everyone except him...
If you are thinking of staying here with children, I'd say NO, NO, NO....please don't.. u may end up in a fight...lol
if u are a young couple or single and keep 2 urself..or Russian and pretend u dont speak english....and don't mind someone putting down their family everytime u see them..then yes stay..
For me and my daughter it was a bitter sweet experience..
Keep the family but get rid of the owner...I say
And daniel if u r reading this..
then know u r uncool and u hurt ur children immensely..

DO NOT USE
DO NOT USE !! Owner is very rude and aggressive. We rented a scooter for 12 days and we had to return the scooter after 1 day due to having to leave bali for a family emergency. We tried to contact him and was ignored the following day he replied and when we was asking for a refund of our money he got very rude to us and the blocked our number. So he robbed our money and very poor customer service. We didnt stay in the villas but we went in to sort out the scooter and it does NOT look like photos. Its not clean and has a poor cow tied up behind the tiny pool. VILE

Terrible
I’ve rent a scooter at this place and this was so terrible. The scooter stopped working, and when I tried to contact the rental (which is also the owner of the property, Daniel) just ignored my calls and messages. Other rentals always fix their bikes right away. But not this one. I HAD TO FIND A MECHANIC MYSELF TO FIX THE BIKE, which is soo unbelievable. And moreover - the bike broke in just 10 minutes from his location, and in 1 hour from mine! I live in another city and had to make all the way several times to fix and return the bike. I don’t why I didn’t leave it there.. maybe I should have. But the worst part was when I brought the scooter back and requested the refund for the rest of the rent, because the scooter was in a dangerous condition and I couldn’t use anymore, the rental became super aggressive and started to gaslight and humiliate me, and told me to leave his place and was loudly bullying me in front of other people that were there, although I was polite. Which was so bad and again unbelievable! It was his fault and his mistake but instead of fixing it and being apologetic, he shouted at me as if I did something wrong when I obviously didn’t. I can’t even tell how bad it was. I still can’t believe this happened to me. So beware, this guy definitely has something like ptsd, he is unpredictable, fishy, aggressive, will provide zero service in case anything happens, and will gaslight and bully instead of being fair. And I never got my money back. So be careful and avoid.
