Very good stay

The rooms including bathrooms are clean and neat. The hotel is conveniently located bang opposite the Byndoor (Mookambika Road) Railway Station. It has basement parking for about 6-7 cars, and lot of open parking space. Sleep quality was good. Staff are courteous and polite. Restaurant along its service can be better. Overall - very good stay.

Bad experience in the dining bar of this hotel's restaurant.

I wanted to share our very bad experience in the dining bar of this hotel's restaurant. We stayed in another hotel and was looking for a good place to dine out with family for dinner which had alcoholic beverages supplied. The review of this hotel was okay so we went to try out. In the family room, which is a small one with each table seating 4 people, with a total of 6 tables placed side ways. We were a group of 12 people with elders, ladies and kids so had to sit 4 in each table. There was another 4 people in the same room ( they were drinking there and had no family). Initially it was okay but after sometime, when those four guys were drunk they started to look into the ladies table with bad sights and started to pass comments. This is really bad from the hotel management as they shouldn't allow men only into family rooms or they shouldn't specify family rooms that serves alcohol. We didn't create a scene as we were with family and children, moreover we were tourist. We complained to the hotel management and came out.
This is to alert other families visiting the place not to be in such a situation. Please be careful as I think the hotel is least bothered and no preference for families. Stay safe while you enjoy the beautiful place - Udupi.

Restaurant is not upto the mark.

this is not about the hotel restaurant bar.We had a very bad experience. The tables are not cleaned properly too much fish smell although we had vegetarian meals. The rice not boiled, things are cold etc etc. we had stomachache problems after taking food.

Location is 45 minutes drive from Mookambika temple. So not suitable for Temble visit.

Room was clean and good. But no amenities like toothbrush, shaving kit etc. only one towel. Restorent is not good. After lunch restorent start at 6.30 pm. Even on request no snacks or tea available…..

Bad Booking experience - Hotel Ambika International

We just want to inform other customers on my bad experience when I tried to book the hotel. I tried many hotels in Mookambika temple area but unfortunately it was full and finally we decided to book a hotel in Byndoor near to the railway station. Morning time rooms were available in all sites with best rates and we thought of directly calling the hotel expecting a better service. One lady picked up the line and we explained our programme and she told she will arrange a call back the same day itself but when I called the hotel at around 8 pm, the lady is not there and none are aware of our request and we simply got a reply 'rooms are full'. We would have resorted to some hotel in the morning itself or booked via some websites but very surprised to note this kind of silly response from a hospitality provider. Luckily we have not stayed in that hotel. Booking itself a horrible experience for us.
