Out of Town Tranquility

We were booked for four nights at this property which is a bit out of town and was our deliberate choice. This is separate from the Windemere Hotel and Spa which is located on the same grounds.
The hotel has a limited number of rooms, the one we stayed in, Delux Twin, I did think was a bit small.
You have a pot to boil water for coffee/ tea with the sachets provided. There is no fridge or ironing board in the room. Toiletries are provided.
Breakfast was of an acceptable standard but nothing worth writing home about.
Overall it was a pleasant stay but would consider a different property should I consider returning to Shillong.

Very good hotel in Shillong!

Windermere Hotel is a top class hotel in Shillong. We stayed a total of 3 nights. The rooms are nice & spacious with all the amenities...nice bathroom, good shower & a balcony too. The food was good too with Indian & Chinese fare. Special mention to Minisha @ the Restaurant. They gave us a packed breakfast on one of the days...chicken sandwiches were very good. All in all 5 Stars.

**Review for Windermere Hotel – 1st March Stay**
We had the pleasure of staying at Windermere Hotel on 1st March, and the experience was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything reflected professionalism, warmth, and thoughtful management.
The rooms were impeccably clean, beautifully maintained, and extremely comfortable. Small yet meaningful gestures — such as the generous supply of complimentary water bottles — added to the sense of care and hospitality.
The service was outstanding. The staff were courteous, gracious, and pleasant in every interaction. Their attention to detail and willingness to assist made our stay even more enjoyable. The food was equally impressive — delicious, well-prepared, and served with care.
Above all, what stood out was the genuine hospitality. The property is well-organized, elegant, and maintained to a very high standard. We honestly did not expect this level of refinement and service in Shillong, and we were truly impressed.
Without hesitation, we highly recommend Windermere Hotel to anyone visiting Shillong. It offers comfort, professionalism, and hospitality at its finest.

Miserable at the hills

Pathetic and miserable experience . I definitely want to highlight that Mr Banti at the dinner was the rudest person I ever met . Ice cream , can you imagine was not a part of Buffett and declined even when was asked for the children . Food is good but courtesy is a big minus .
