Spacious Central Value B and B in heart of Coloba

Spacious, clean, secure Victorian rooms. Comfy bed, TV, AC, Wi-Fi and continuous hot water. The B and B is very central with the famous Leopold Cafe, Gate of India, The Taj Hotel and Modern Art Museums all around the corner. Good value, with Somanath always helpful and providing coffee, toast and jams, in your room, for breakfast.

What you pay is what you get

Mumbai is expensive for accommodation so I went for a cheaper option. The staff were friendly and attentive. The windowless double room was clean but basic. There was a jug but no tea or coffee or cups. The breakfast was 3 pieces of toast with butter and jam and tea or coffee. I had to eat again shortly after. The taxi drivers are difficult and were not keen to take me to Mumbai Central. Luckily one of the staff came out with and spoke to the taxi driver before he agreed to take me.

Awful hotel in a great location.

The only saving grace to this place is it's location and the friendly dog the roams the corridor. We were sold two separate rooms for a family of four despite each room having 5 beds in them. They wouldn't allow us to cancel the second room. Booking.com managed to reduce our rate and cancel the second room but the owner refused to abide by this and still charged us for two rooms for the first night and then charged us an extra bed supplement per night for the one room. The room is pictured as having 5 beds and we never asked for any further beds. They are basically trying to sell an extra room when not needed. The beds have the hardest mattresses I have ever felt... pillows were dirty. Only one thin blanket each which was also awful quality. The complimentary breakfast is two slices of toast and jam. Also the reception consists of a desk in the hall immediately outside our room where the receptionist also sleeps. I can't imagine why this place has good reviews. We booked this hotel on the strength of them and truly regret it. Avoid. Having said all that, the three guys that were on duty most days were very nice and polite and we have no issue with them at all.

Budget friendly - worth all the penny

If you're looking a budget-friendly accommodation in the heart of Mumbai just to sleep and bath, Avabai Mansion is an excellent choice. Its central location provides easy access to all the city's major attractions on foot. The building itself is a charming old Mumbai ambiance. The staff at Avabai Mansion are friendly and helpful. It was very safe aswell. Brownie points for the breakfast. Worth every penny. Thank you

Very prime location.Booked a family room with attached balcony.Staff behavior is very good.Easy access to Gate way of India.

Very prime location spacious room good staff behavior.Only concern is some water logging at toilet bath section outlets
But that is manageable.Some one can order food from outside as per the menu card provided by the hotel at reasonable cost
