Select residency kozhikode.. Select it at kozhikode..

Select residency is located at kozhikode about 400metres away from the railway station. It's difficult to locate it on the way as it's located a little inside the main road. The hotel is reasonably well maintained. Staff are ready to help and the check in process was smooth. I booked non ac room online which was not available at the time when I visited there. So they converted an ac room which was well maintained, with good bed linen and a neat bathroom. A small restaurant is inside this hotel for breakfast but complimentary breakfast was not available at that time. Transportation ia available through auto riskshaws and kozhikode is famous for the well behaved auto walas. This hotel is very economical if you avail offers through various travel sites. Altogether it's a good option for the travellers in kozhikode.

Cheap and convenient

Room was pretty clean and surprisingly there was hot water!
Location is excellent, close to railway station and S M Street for shopping and food. Also walking distance to the best beef briyani restaurant in Kozhikode, Rahmath Hotel.
Wifi service was good.
The elevator was working properly although pretty old.

Adequate hotel for a nights stay

It is strictly a budget hotel, 5 mins walk away from Kozhikode railway station. Staff was friendly. Car parking may not available all the times as parking space is congested. But SM Street is few minutes walk to do some shopping.

Pathetic service by Akhil front office

I booked via redbus.com and had to check in early morning at 6. Hence I called the previous day and confirmed the checkin time. When I reached the hotel in the morning, front office manager denied giving me room as he said check in was 2 in the afternoon. After a hard bargain he agreed to give single room and I had to accept as I had to leave for a meeting at 9am.
I am an avid traveller and I have never come across such rude staff. This guys name is Akhil and sits at the reception.

If you are a single traveller and looking for an economy hotel near calicut city the Select recidency is a best choice for you. I stayed there for one night in a non ac room. Its neat. Bath room is not so big. You have a neat room with TV. Its very close to railway station and city center Palayam. If you follow the principle pay less for minimum guaranteed comfort and safety its a good option.
