Comfortable, clean hotel and helpful staff

The hotel can be a little hard to get to, although it's just off NH47, because the access route is complicated. We didn't have a problem after the first day, however, and uber drivers were able to find the place easily.
The location is lovely because of the view of the canal, and the room was large, clean and comfy. The staff too were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean, if a bit dark. The AC worked perfectly. Breakfast was outstanding!
For a budget hotel, this place was excellent value for money.

Decent hotel, good staff but no so good location

Location: The location in itself is good however access to the location is not very commute friendly. Restaurants are not available in nearby location. No general stores. No public transport is easily accessible.
Rooms: rooms are decent but we had to change thrice in the stay of 3 days. Reason: sometime rooms were damp or sheet had not been properly filled
Washroom: Manageble but nothing too great
Food and restaurant: Not available kitchen is there but not hygienic. Avoid eating there
Hotel staff: Very friendly and cooperative
Bonus: although the hotel does not have a swimming pool but there is a swimming pool on a payment basis in the same premises.

Terrible Experience

The staffs at the hotel were not supportive, the pictures shown in the website is fake, when we pay for a room of our choice, we would expect the hotel authorities to provide them especially when we are with our family. The staff was behaving oddly and advised me there is no such rooms available.

ACCESSIBLE AND ECONOMICAL

This hotel is very ideally located at the bank of chambakkara river with panoramic and scenic view with good ambiance and that too at a affordable price. The stay will be a comfortable and service is very cordial

oval retreat palace , canal bank road, thykoodam vytilla kochi

1. remote location. access to this place is tough unless known cab driver.
2. getting out is tough as there are no transport. nearest place NH47 highway bus station 10 minutes walk.
3. staff only one and the owners.
4. complimentary breakfast provided becos it is included better dont try it.
5. rooms are old unmaintained and the locks door latches are all in broen state.
6. if no electricity , no generator or inverter.
7. hot water is from solar heated and never heats up.
but location is in front of backwater lagoon transport place very good.
