Located in Aluva, Pearl Spot is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Aluva Palace and Keerthisthambham are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Cherai Beach and Chalakudy River. Wonderla and Gramika Cultural centre are also worth visiting. Along with a microwave in a common area, this bed & breakfast has a refrigerator in a common area and laundry facilities. Free buffet breakfast, free WiFi in public areas, and free self parking are also provided. Additionally, a garden, charcoal grills, and a porter/bellhop are onsite. had a fantastic experience at Pearl Spot! The combination of a scenic waterfront view, well-maintained rooms, beautiful landscaping, and excellent hospitality really makes it stand out. It's great to hear that Mr. John took such great care of you and helped ensure a memorable stay. I'll definitely keep this in mind for anyone looking for a recommendation!

Perfect.. what more can I say !!

This was our last stop after six weeks in southern India. What a wonderful place to complete our trip. A spacious, clean, comfortable and well appointed apartment with kitchenette, couch and a balcony with a great view over the Periyar river. Top it of with a gracious and incredibly helpful host and you have the perfect stay. Thank you Pradeep for everything.

Another very enjoyable stay

This was our second visit to Pearl Spot and were able to stay a bit longer (2 nights just after Christmas) and this allowed us more time to appreciate the surroundings and Pradeep's hospitality. This time we managed to have a leisurely swim in the river (wonderful!) and also enjoy a delightful boat ride up the river with Pradeep. We also had a chance to hear something of Pradeep's family history, which was very interesting. Pradeep arranged for an evening's entertainment provided by the local martial arts (kalaripayattu, I think) group, which we also enjoyed very much. Once again, Pradeep's and his wife's warm hospitality was exceptional and gave us a great start to our second trip to Kerala.

What a spot!

First let's get the things out of the way that weren't great. There's no wi-fi. Pradeep kindly let us use the hotspot on his phone for a couple of important emails we had to send. Rusty the lovely friendly dog barked a lot in the night. I always take ear plugs so it wasn't too bad, but something we all noticed. Also, the inside of the fridge and kitchen units weren't very clean.
However, cleanliness is something that's just different in India (which you get used to) so to Indian standards it was very good. Also, I think if there was wi-fi at Pearl Spot the prices could be higher. And, Pearl Spot is just that, a really special spot on the Peryar river. We travelled all over central Kerala and it was possibly the most peaceful location we stayed (even though you are only 20 mins from the airport).
We paid 4500 rupees per night for the ground floor spacious apartment for a family of four. It's like a boutique apartment with a lovely balcony overlooking the garden and river. We had a really spacious living / dining area also. Included in the price was a wonderful breakfast and Pradeep being on hand to drive us to shops, restaurants and ultimately the airport. Pradeep speaks excellent English and was really interesting and helpful as were his staff also always on hand to help. There was a boat trip included too and we were also allowed use of Pradeep's kayak.
Our two boys relentlessly jumped into the river from the jetty and absolutely loved staying here. We swam too and the best swimming of all was on the boat trip where we could dive into the deeper water (it's quite shallow and muddy at the edges).
If you're staying near the airport it's a no-brainer and we can't wait to come back.
