Whimsical Stay
Great hidden gem hotel! We got recommended this hotel by family in the area and couldn’t be happier. The staff is kind, food is great, and the property is so beautiful.

Highly Recommend!
The Clouds End Villa room I had was a suite overlooking a lush area of the property. It was well maintained and quite beautiful. The staff was exceptionally warm and responsive. I have serious food sensitivities. Not only did the staff take great care to understand and accommodate my needs (and the food was amazing), but Chandresh Kumari Katoch, the owner, personally met with me and called me to ensure I was doing well. I have never experienced this level of personal care and customer service from a hotelier. I have only great things to say about Clouds End. Thank you to Chandresh and her incredible team!

Room 3.... Was I allocated the servants quarters?
I can only report on the room which I occupied for 2-nights whilst travelling with a group organised by MERCURY HOLIDAYS. Quite how Mercury Holidays can associate itself with such an appalling hotel is completely beyond my comprehension. The first thing I noticed, upon pulling back the bed cover and duvet, was a large tear in a sheet. Further investigation around the room brought flaking plaster to my attention together with cracks in the walls. A towel had a hole in it. The handle of the multi coloured toilet cistern came off in my hand. Crawling insects had to be flushed from the shower before it could be used. You will see from the photos that the room does not offer the best of views. A fan heater was essential to keep warm, and probably dry out the dampness within the walls. The socket outlet looked particularly dangerous too. The in-house telephone did not function either. Attempts were made by the staff to connect the room to the promised Wi-Fi... See photo of device used. I was told by the Mercury Tour Manager that no other room was available, so a change was not possible. This this I could only take is word... For anyone considering staying at this hotel, my advice is "do not". It is located miles from anywhere of interest, to reach the town you will have to travel by car.

Tired accommodation
This establishment is described as 'unpretentious but scenically located'. I would describe it as basic. The staff were very attentive when we ate our meals there which were satisfactory. However the rooms could have been cleaner and the gardens were neglected. If chairs had been put out, we could have enjoyed the view. This is the only place where we were bitten even though we were quite high above sea level. Some of our party had spiders in the room on 3 occasions and one couple ran out of hot water when showering

Quirky and strange........but interesting.
Spent a couple of nights here on a tour of Northern India with Mercury holidays, I know fellow travellers were not impressed with this hotel. However our room was decent, clean and pretty inviting. Quirky....yes, pristine.......no, but it was comfortable. I doubt if there is anything better in the area that is more suitable. The plus side was that the gin in the G &T's were very generous. Food was eaten at a communal table, quality was good if a little bland and unimaginative. Service was okay at best, got the impression that the waiters were not happy with their lot. Would I want to go again............no, had the experience thank you.
