Tranquility at Its Finest

Anchorage 42 was exactly the peaceful escape I needed. Surrounded by lush greenery and a calming ambience, it offered the perfect space to slow down and recharge. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, and every member of the staff was kind, respectful, and genuinely helpful—especially Kashmira, whose care and thoughtfulness made my stay even more comfortable. I came here seeking some quiet time alone, and I left feeling rested, cared for, and grateful. A beautiful homestay that truly feels like a sanctuary. Highly recommend.

Spacious rooms, excellent bathrooms and breakfast, but bedding needs improvement

Anchorage 42 is a peaceful and well-maintained property. The entrance has a lot of plants and trees and felt slightly overgrown and cluttered to us, so the first impression was not as attractive as the interiors.
Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable overall. The bathroom was particularly impressive—spotlessly clean, beautifully designed and one of the strongest features of the property.
The main disappointment was the bed. It moved and made a squeaking noise, while the mattress was quite hard and uncomfortable. The pillows, bedsheet and quilt could also be improved. A better-quality bed and bedding would make the stay considerably more comfortable.
Breakfast was very good. We had the aloo paratha, which was excellent. The tea, however, was not particularly good. Guests should also be aware that the property serves breakfast but does not provide lunch or dinner, although food can be ordered from outside.
The attendant was courteous, helpful and readily available whenever we needed assistance.
Overall, it is a good property with spacious rooms, outstandingly clean bathrooms, a quiet atmosphere and excellent breakfast. With improvements to the bed and bedding, it could offer an even better experience.

Best best property ! Better than any 7 star property

The most amazing stay I have ever experienced! It's better than any other 5-7 star hotel !
Rooms bathrooms whole property is so clean and perfect !
The owner of the property Mr Dan is so humble and has welcome nature !
Breakfast is so perfect and homely taste!
Staff is very well behaved and helping !!
Totally loved the property!

A perfect base in Chandigarh

Anchorage 42 is a well-appointed, comfortable homestay in a lush, quiet and convenient sector of Chandigarh. We were a party of keen birders, delighted that we could walk to Sukhna Lake for sunrise birding and return for a good Indian breakfast before sightseeing. We loved the quirky rooms, all decorated with an incredible collection of (mostly) Art Deco furniture, lighting, art and ceramics. If you are lucky, the owner - Captain Dan - will regale you with fascinating tales of his seafaring days at breakfast, and treat you to a tour of the best of his astonishing collectables. On each of our three evenings, we had excellent Indian meals in restaurants only a short Uber trip away.

This was one of the best stays of my life…

This was one of the best stays of my life. The property Anchorage 42 is just awesome- it’s decorated with so much vintage stuff that it feels like you have stepped into a museum. The property is also spotlessly clean and the service is top notch. And the host is so friendly and helpful. He joins us for breakfast everyday and you end up having a nice and hearty conversation.
