low budget hotel with excellent ambience, can stay with family

When we go to other city for office work on self expenses than it is necessary to stay in a budget hotel because we do not stay in room for whole day, we just use the room for 1-2 hour than why should we pay more.
I usually visit to ahmedabad for office work, and i often stay near lal darwaja in budget hotels that costs around 400-500/- Rs. per day.
This time i found non-AC room in serena hotel @600/- Rs. per day.
This hotel is too good for a budget hotel, it has lift, good reception, air conditioner rooms, towels, bed linens, television, clean bathroom with toilet soap (all these things are deficient in other budget hotels).
There is a two restaurants within 100 meter distant to this hotel.
Staff of hotel was very cooperative, even they do not charge extra if you ask them to bring the food from nearby restaurant.
I was very much happy with this hotel.

Terrible

Its better not to stay at this hotel, bathroom is not clean, room is untidy, tv not good, no wifi, bed is bad, u can say pretty much all are below standards, only take last option to take room here since are cheap.

Seems Rundown

Basic and average is the best description. The front desk staff is not hospitable at all. Some general people crowd the lobby at odd hours, may be partners or associates - but not leaving much space for paying hotel guests to sit is downer. One of them tried to sell me expensive taxi service thinking I had not idea of Ola or Uber.

Broken switch boards,
Broken Remote of TV
Dirty bedsheets and bathroom.

Housekeeping staff is well behaved
Overall - don't expect much basic stay can be ok - there is no customer delight or feel good factor - go for pure transaction. Stay - pay - leave.
Or actually Pay- stay - Leave. They take deposit that is more than a day's stay before you check in.

average hotel in city area

Other getting down at the Ahemdabad railway station, we hired an auto to find a budget accommodation for us. We needed low price hotel/motel to just get ready and park our luggage till evening. Hotel Serena was not that bad. They charged 936/- for basic twin sharing room, which was value for money. The room had all basic necessities.
Overall, an average budget hotel.
