Enjoy yourself in a historic setting
This historic estate was still in great disrepair 2 years ago. But has since been rapidly transformed by the new owner and her father into a dream place to get married, eat and stay. Around the castle are beautiful gardens. On the terrace you can enjoy a drink and eat. Our suite was stylish and comfortably renovated. The castle is a short walk from the town of Valkenburg, where there is plenty to see and do, and the city center is just a short walk away.

Like a fairy tale!
A great experience and highly recommended!
Only open a year, everything so beautiful. The decor, the garden in English style. The restaurant has a nice menu. We had a great meal here! And the service was very friendly. The overnight stays were also top! The hotel room nicely decorated, clean , and the bed slept like in a fairy tale!
Breakfast was also tasty and good quality .In short, for us a keeper! We were so hospitably received and helped.
The area is an ideal walking and cycling area.

Highly recommended at weekend Valkenburg
Although some rooms are not finished yet in terms of renovation, the rooms are top, breakfast fantastic and staff very nice and attentive. We enjoyed it! Walking distance to the city centre

Lovely location, dramatic hospitality experience.
Very disappointing experience at Castle East. Frankly, it is difficult to understand what the high prices are based on, because there was little sign of service, hospitality and hygiene during our visit.
There were far too few staff and the service appeared uninterested and anything but welcoming. You pay quite a bit of money here, but you definitely don't get the feeling that you are appreciated as a guest. Rather, it felt like we were a burden.
A man who introduced himself to us as Feike/Fijcke told us, of course, that we should especially report it if something was not satisfactory. When we then wanted to indicate something, he made a gesture with his hand that we had to wait. Then he just didn't come back. Makes you wonder why you invite guests to give feedback at all.
If that wasn't enough, there was a hair in our tuna tartare. The cutlery was also not well clean and was not neatly in order. These are not details you should encounter at a restaurant in this price range. Hygiene and clean cutlery seem to us quite basic expectations.
And then there is a young cook with a cigarette walking around the terrace while guests are eating. Whether he was going to take a break or go somewhere else, we don't know, but the cigarette smoke came straight over the terrace and past our table. In our opinion, that is really unacceptable when people are eating outside quietly.
Perhaps the most frustrating thing is the ratio between the price and what you get in return. For this amount you expect a well-kept location, attentive and friendly staff, good hygiene and above all the feeling that you are welcome. Unfortunately, we have not seen much of it.
Castle Oost may have a beautiful location, but a beautiful location alone does not make good hospitality. The service and attention to the guest should be at least at the same level as the prices charged. Based on our experience, there was absolutely no question of that.
For us, this was very poor value for money and an experience we won't soon forget — unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.

Fairy Tales Castle
Lunch in a fairytale castle was my wish and this definitely came true. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed lunch on the terrace. Delicious Vega salad and a bouncer with parma ham, cheese with 3 eggs. The service was great. A beautiful view of the large garden. After lunch I took a walk in this garden. Highly recommended because there is still so much to see there. Ramona has made this a real top location. Compliments!
