Perfect

Such a lovely place to stay when visiting beautiful Valkenburg. We were on a coach trip and took over the whole hotel. It was very Christmassy with tasteful decorations, warm and cozy. The food was absolutely delicious and catered for special diets. It’s a family run hotel and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a great location, very near to the train station and just a short walk to the town centre. Lots of high end shops and cozy restaurants where you can sit outside near a heater with a furry rug on your lap and fill your boots with hot Gluhwein. We went to the underground caves Christmas market, the castle ruins, on the chair lift to the top of the hill and had fun on the Luge. It was a wonderful, memorable stay at the Grand Hotel Metropole. Highly recommend.

The property is outdated (eg no airconditioning), but clean and our bed was comfortable. It is close to the train station and close to the center, but quiet.

Really well situated 2 minutes from the railway station. 4 minutes from centre of the old town. Carpark easy to get into right at the side of the hotel. Tea and coffee in the room.Staff were really helpful.

Reasonable hotel

I had booked 2 budget rooms. Room 307 was renewed. Wallpaper and a closet. Room 207 is not. That's where I slept. Dirty old wallpaper that was loose. Bedside table drawer broken. Bathroom was really bad. Loose tap, loose toilet seat, loose shower hose, tap sink sprayed in all directions, sink ran badly. Reported at check out that this room is actually unrentable. It's a nice old hotel but Room 207 is really bad. Very nice staff. Great terrace and great breakfast
