Lovely place to stay

It's a top location. A wonderful stay where there is also a lot to do for children. Nice playground, around lots of water so keeping a view of small children is wise. Near the center of Sneek where you can go on rented bikes.

A great visit in Friesland.

If you want to discover Friesland by boat, bicycle, walking or car ... this is the place. You are staying in a very beautiful restored old farm next to the water. Very friendly hosts. And sure sure try on of the boats they rent. We did not have any experience riding a boat but we had great fun with our little diesel boat wandering in the little canals and lakes. A real adventures for the whole family. (not dangerous at all) The hotel is a few km from the very beautiful city Sneek. Not in walking distance, but you can rent a bicycle or a boat, or drive your car. We are planning to go back again some day.

Charming hosts, beautiful home

We had a wonderful last minute trip to Noordostpolder to see the tulips and were thrilled. The owner is very welcoming and inviting and instantly guided us around, opened maps and gave us our bearings. The home was beautiful, the studio apartment we had was large and well-equipped. The owner has a boat which she rents out for trips through the waterways. There is a very charming village right outside the farmhouse which made for a nice hour boat trip. The home also had a playground and a resident dog which made for a very kid-friendly environment. Breakfast was not included in the rate, so we didn't take it, as I thought 7.50 for small children was a bit pricey. So, I can't comment on the food. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. One comment I would make is the while the location of the hotel itself was charming, I was a bit surprised coming in. You drive through a district that has a lot of warehouses. When you turn down the road for It Ges all is calm, but I have to admit I was a bit concerned going in that we were not in the correct place.

First class

I stayed here with my sons during August 2014 and had a wonderful time. The Lodge is excellent and is just 5 mins out of town. There is a lovely Mariana attached to the lodge with lots of nice boats. There is plenty to do around Sneek and the lodge is a great place to stay. The rooms where lovely and the view was spectacular from all angles.
The staff where very friendly and it was like staying with family. I will be going back as soon as I can.

What a gem!

Travelling the world at times you find something special, this is one of these places!
This newly redesigned and purpose built old farm house is now a five star accommodation facility with a very personal family touch and charm.
Don't even think about staying in a bland multi story hotel as this 'boerderij' provides both the space and quality of service you expect from a chain group and more.
Right on the water (there is a lot of that in Sneek) it provides boat hire, bike hire and a lovely area just to walk across the little bridge and view the old Dutch Museum pieces of homes.
We liked the open feel of our upstairs room 'Hindelopen' but if you travel with children (that can swim) a downstairs room right on the water or the garden might suit better.
Family run businesses such as this always bring something special to the experience and THIS place is an experience not to miss. Stay for al least a week however in order to do all the exploring you wish to do, the two days we were here are just not enough.
