Quiet hotel in the center of Harlingen.

Hotel centrally located in the centre of Harlingen on a fairly quiet street.
It's an old building but neat inside.
The room we had was on the ground floor and had a window in the ceiling that could open.
Room was small but sufficient to spend the night. Clean and tidy.
The bathroom was also clean and tidy.
Any bicycles can be parked in a very narrow closed alley next to the hotel.
The breakfast was good, sufficient to start the day with.
The staff was very nice and helpful.

Lovely little hotel with personality

Booked because of proximity to rail station (Harlingen is not big so you are never really very far from anywhere) and having arrived on time I was expected and swiftly checked in at which point I was reacquainted with Dutch stairs (almost vertical, more like ladders!) as my room was 2nd floor and no lift. Room was clean with regularly replenished coffee, comfortable bed and all en-suite facilities. Small window overlooked adjacent roof but opened fully for ventilation (air-conditioning unit available but necessary only once).
Breakfast was very good with a broad range of choice - cheese and ham, bacon and -egg, croissants and jam, yoghurt, fruit - available 7-10 weekends but 6-9 weekdays. Restaurant open evenings only Mon-Fri with a daily menu (no choice) which proved remarkably good value for €27-50 (2 courses of very generous proportion plus either ice-cream or coffee).
This not a chain hotel and some may consider it a little old-fashioned and lacking in some of the facilities offered by the faceless employees or automated machines (or lifts!) but I loved being recognised as more than just a room number. The hotel is not for the mobility-impaired nor the time-pressed executive but I would recommend it for any casual visitor.
Would I return? Like a shot ...

Old-fashioned, clean and nostalgic!

On arrival some difficulty with check-in. Booked through Booking, but was initially not registered anywhere (despite a response from the hotel when asked if I could check in late). It was quite a climb to the 2nd floor and once I arrived I thought I was back in the 70s. Cot along the side , table fridge with the energy label still on the door. Old desk, toilet in a small room under a sloping roof shower on the other side of the room. Mobile air conditioning by the window. It was hot outside so it was 28 degrees in the room. The air conditioning was otherwise fine, except for the noise. So the choice was: sleep with an air conditioner that makes noise or 28 degrees? Rooms are somewhat noisy, adjacent guest snored quite well. The room was very clean and equipped with everything needed for a night.
Breakfast was great! Checkout also fine.
Price quality ratio is good. I normally book large hotels, but despite everything had a great stay.

Home feeling

I have been welcomed in a very friendly manner and not only loved my interactions with the Owner but also his son.
A lovely hotel, well located and quiet.
Roomy rooms, simple and confortable.
Enjoyed the breakfast and the local feel of the place.
Thank you for your time and friendliness during my stay.

A very nice stay

Very good 3 stars hotel, run by a friendly family, were very helpful, rooms kept clean, very good breakfast included, very good dinner for a fair price if you like, was worth it. Excellent location, very close to the center and not far from the main road for the bus too.
