Updated rooms - updated wifi - still placed in the middle of town :-)

Updated room flooring, new flatscreen Tvs, upgraded and working wifi and still the same great service from super friendly staff. This is in the middle of town on the "corner" of the town square. Some city noise to be expected, this is mainly the buzz from people sitting in a cafe somewhere on the Simonsplein and is just charming.
Some bathrooms have bathtubs and some have just showers, a bit dated but clean and functional! Possibilities for parking in the back yard of the hotel. Great breakfast - outside terrace in summer as well and water boiler in each room so you can easily have a warm beverage in your room.
"French doors" open up so if you want to sit in your room reading or just watch city life, this is really great if the weather permits it!

Duplicate payment and zero communication

Unfortunately this hotel insisted we had not paid ( which we had via Booking.com) in the moment I couldn’t connect to my email for evidence. To avoid a scene my husband paid with travel money card. I have emailed with evidence of the duplicate payment twice but have heard nothing. Very bad form when they could have just checked their own records with booking.com

Very simple, max. 2 stars

Very simple hotel, small room, a chair next to the bed as a bedside table, breakfast was arranged by a lady who also cleans the rooms, she still had her gloves on, not really hygienic and a very limited and simple hotel.
Reception was very warm, no bar or lounge, in short, very mediocre for such a price.

Great location

Very friendly staff, superb location! No a/c and we stayed there when it was very hot. There were fans though. I liked the balcony and bathroom! There were two single beds that kept sliding away from eachother, so we didn't sleep that well. Breakfast was good!!

A job in the Netherlands .

Started with a handy private carpark . No lift in hotel , i had a big heavy bag !
The staff and owners are top notch people . They couldnt do enough to help . I didnt choose the hotel as it was a work thing . Would i choose it of my own back now ?
YES most definetly . Lovely small town and hotel has everything on its doorstep .
