AVOID unless you are happy with your personal data being compromised
Initially everything was fine, and was advised at the start my booking was confirmed and that I would receive a message about one month out from my trip requesting further details and payment.
Approximately, 6 weeks ago I received a WhatApp message from an unknown number requesting that I 'confirm' my booking details & verify my reservation. The message had my name, the dates of my stay & a booking ID. The message received was a scam message.
I contacted Blancazul straight away and was advised that this had nothing to do with them and it must be a Booking.com issue. I subsequently contacted Booking.com who confirmed that their systems were no compromised and it was a service provider issue. I went back to Blancazul and pushed them further on this... only after further messages did they confirm that their systems were compromised. Further messages were exchanged... in short I was told I could cancel my booking if I wasn't happy. This completely ignored my strong concerns about my data being compromised and what data had been stolen. I let the matter sit as I needed the accommodation.
Fast forward to this week... on February 5th I received a message from Blancazul requesting payment (payment by bank transfer or via a link they provide). Remember at this point Blancazul had not addressed my concerns and also the booking enjoyed a free cancellation period up to March 1st. I asked them to address my previous questions and no surprise, they refused to deal with same. A payment was attempted by Blancazul via the Booking.com platform which thankfully failed as I had not updated an old credit card on my account. Following this, Booking.com allow 24 hours for card detail to be updated but Blancazul decided to cancel my booking shortly after the payment attempt.
You can imagine my anger at the way this company has treated my valid concerns. I have instructed Booking.com to look into the actions of this accommodation provider and I may seek alternative remediation as for a company to loose personal data of a customer is a very serious matter. I am still in the dark as to what data has been stolen and to be honest I have no confidence in Blancazul to be upfront about what data was compromised. I am now left a month out from my trip having to seek alternative accommodation which is appalling.
Anyone reading this needs to be aware of the company you are dealing with.
