Clean and Cheap
We used this hotel as a one night stop-over on a long road trip. Hotel was clean, friendly and great value for the Triple room we occupied. There didn't seem to much on offer in immediate area but it was perfect for what we needed

Mistrustful owners
1.7 out of 10 isn't much! It's even the worst stockings! Let's see if I can improve it unites little.
We are an elderly couple, French and fond of photographing birds. In the middle of this month of June 2025 we chose to take advantage of the "hides" of the Mas de Melons (natural reserve of the Government of Catalonia carried by a team of technicians of great value and dedication to nature. Thank you very much to you Lluís and your colleagues!) to photograph especially the wonderful Iberian bargain) and stayed 3 nights at the hostel Cal Jaume de Mollerussa (which is about 30 kilometers from the Mas de Melons, but there is nothing closer). This hostel is in a lively village, in a good neighborhood, where it is easy to find place to park the car. Cal Jaume is a modernized hostel (it was in electrical works those days but without bother), very clean and very good price. I am satisfied with the hostel, my lady puts many qualms that I do not share but she would have preferred us to choose the Hotel Jardi (a 2 room apartment for which they charged 160 euros per night, that is as much as 3 nights in Cal Jaume). I must confess that we are more used to the level of hotels of the type Hotel Jardi but I considered their prices abusive.
Returning to the hostel Cal Jaume : the first night we tried the restaurant. A very cheap menu, 14 euros for 2 courses. Regular quality, of course. When I asked if they could add the 28 euros in our account the owner refused and I had to take out the card. This disgusted me a lot, but I was not surprised because the mistrust of the owner was evident from our arrival. Obviously I would have preferred us to pay for the 3 nights immediately and I was offended. I didn't want to pay for the 3 nights because I wanted to reserve the possibility to change hotels just in case.
The result was that we did not eat or dine at this hotel anymore. Which led us to discover the best restaurant in Mollerussa according to Tripadvisor (El Vidari, dinner for 2 : 78 euros, which I will discuss later).

Handy stopover and a pleasant stay
Avenue de la Paz is a fairly long road and, unless you can guess at the Catalan name, your satnaz won’t find it or the hostal.
It’s not the most attractive hostal, in fact it’s rather dark & dreary downstairs, but has everything you need for an overnight stay, including a reasonably good menu at only 10€ including wine.
Street parking outside is available throughout the area but it’s a busy part of town so it took me a while to find a space near the hostal. I was able to move nearer when the shops had closed and residents were settled down for the night
Not really my cup of tea and not sure I would stay here again but it was handy, very good value, I had a good “Spanish”meal and had a pleasant night despite a bit of door banging from the few other residents.
Not a particulary exciting town from a tourist pint of view and not helped by the fact that they were digging up and refurbishing most of the town centre when I was there.

Para no volver jamàs
Una noche de insomnio. Ruidos toda la noche, fiestas en las habitaciones, peste a tabaco y otras hievas...a la 1:00 de la madrugada tuvimos de dar la atencion a la habitación contigua. Continuan los portazos,ruidos, gritos....para no volver.
