Dreadful dreadful experience
Motorbikes were racing each other fast on the road outside at night and in the early hours its the main road round the island, so I decided I would find somewhere quieter.
The proprietors turned very quickly into not very nice people, the husband raising his voice as he spoke to me and was very angry (a.k.a Controlling!) and his wife started laughing at me trying to get a reaction probably...they said I needed to pay the whole lot as if I was staying for weeks....then they charged more than they were charging a night on Booking.com which at the time was €31. I was a female travelling alone, they kept my deposit, charged me a hell of a lot more per night and then said I could go the next day, (they kept changing their mind and sending me emails) total chaos and also left me feeling incredibly uneasy about them, I did not trust them as they were like bullies ganging up on a single woman (I was travelling alone)...., really despicable behaviour.
I could not wait to leave, they scared me to be honest, such a dreadful start to my holiday. A very negative experience.....
There is also a bakery next door so if your room is near that they start work around 4am. Having travelled via Athens and seen people hungry on the streets these business owners struck me as greedy and they started laughing when I said I found the road noise was waking me up at night, just goes to show how little they care about their customers having a good time....they just want your money and will put on a friendly front as long as you comply with their wishes. Unfortunately customer service is really the way forward and they really have not grasped that....
Awful experience never had this happen before and I have travelled widely most people want others to enjoy their holiday ...not these people. Over priced rooms also very unpleasant people .....busy road outside not particularly safe to walk along as people over take on corners.....you have been warned!!
