Excellent Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Kamari Star and here you get exactly what you pay for. At a very reasonable £29 per night B&B, we had a clean room, comfortable beds, balcony and own bathroom. The staff at the hotel are super friendly and so helpful. What more could you need?!
The beach is literally a 5 minute walk away (if that), there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops close by. But if you are in need of an early night - there is very little noise to be heard in your room.
Wonderful stay - if we ever come back to Kamari, we'll be sure to look at the Kamari Star again.

Totally ok for low rate price in high season

Friendly owner and easy living..
Nothing special. Room by the street. Clean and nothing to complain about.
This seem to be the only area in Santorini with hotels below €50 a day... :o
Loads and loads of restaurants along the seaside. Totally overpriced and extremely annoying as everybody has barkers! It is really a pain walking along the restaurant street here!
-If we didn't have to stay a night for to catch a plane, I would never spent the night in Santorini! Everything is extremely overpriced and loaded with bad vibes!
We got bad food for three times the price! Everybody is trying to fool you! Taxi drivers are rude and agree on scam prises directly over your head! Bus drivers just screaming at you! Even tourist advisers are rude and pointing you in the wrong direction WTF!!?? How does people that depend on tourism become this degenerated?? Shame on you!
(Of course we hadn't ONLY bad experiences here, but this is still the impression that stuck with us) :p

Lovely, Clean, Central Hotel

My Mum and I stayed at the Kamari Star Hotel during the last week of September for 4 nights and we had an amazing time. We stayed half-board and the food was absolutely amazing - real home-cooked Greek food. We were really pleased with the quality of food and it was nice to be able to pick from a menu for dinner during our stay. Some dishes required a surcharge of 3/4 Euros (such as the platters/sharers) but we didn't mind paying this at all and I would definitely recommend the Santorini Sharer. Breakfast is a continental-style buffet and we always found something to eat in the mornings - the coffee was very good and I enjoyed the fresh cake that was baked every morning. Our room was close to Reception and was more than big enough for the 2 of us, it was brightly decorated and spotless in terms of cleanliness. Lots of room in the wardrobe/drawers to store clothing etc. Our room overlooked a lovely courtyard on the second floor. There were some very noisy guests staying at both the hotel and the apartments opposite where the hotel courtyard looks over. Unfortunately, you can hear every single noise from other people's rooms but this is at no fault of the owners. The fridge in the room was also quite noisy and kept my Mum awake some nights which again could not be helped. There was only one plug socket in our room too but we managed ok to charge phones/use the hairdryer etc.
The hotel is perfectly located, less than a 2 minute walk to the beach and it is surrounded by shops/cafe's bars and the bus stop to Thira is just around the corner. The bus services charge 1.80 Euros to get from Kamari to Thira. We caught the bus to Oia and back and found the bus service to be very easy to use. The Kamari Tours office is also on the same street as this hotel and we booked 2 excursions through them, which we thoroughly enjoyed and felt that it was good value for money. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel for our short stay in Santorini and I wish we could have stayed for longer. The staff at the hotel are all extremely hard working and were very lovely and welcoming - we felt very safe and well-looked after during our stay. Santorini is a very beautiful island and If I return I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for an amazing stay!

Lovely people, good food. Could be better

The people who run Kamari star are lovely and helpful. The food at the restaurant is good and probably the cheapest good grub in Kamari. The room we had was a bit too basic though. We expected that but we would have expected that the shower not have to be hand held and the curtain to be long enough to help stop bathroom flooding everytime we used it. An option of a kettle in the room for us brits would be a nice touch too. I could have got hot water from the restaurant but that would mean getting properly dressed before my first cuppa. Hey Ho. Breakfast too could be improved with the addition of fruit and nuts to add the plain yaughert. All in all though a positive experience at the cheapest resturant and hotel in Kamari.

Silver anniversary holiday

Fabulous wee hotel, friendly, clean, great food and wonderful hosts. Close to the beach and loads of wonderful shop, bars and restaurants. Didn’t want to come home. Wishing Dino, Sandi and staff a wonderful year:)
