Pure escapism
Just returned home after 7 fabulous days at this lovely hotel.
Spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful staff and in a location offering amazing views and stunning sunsets. Super comfy beds and very nice rooms which are cleaned every day.
Approximately a 15 minute walk into Methoni with a couple of opportunities to stop for a cold beverage along the way.
You'll have the opportunity to walk off the greek cuisine on the last leg of the walk back up to the hotel as it is up a hill. That said the view is so worth it.
Recommend doing a boat trip, a visit to Pylos and a wander around the castle while you're there too.
Can't wait to go back!

...very good....
Things we loved...
The view. Sensational from all rooms and from the breakfast patio and pool area. The location is good but we are glad we hired a car as the walk to the centre of Methoni, although only about 15 - 20mins, is a bit of a slog in the heat.
Breakfast. Buffet service. Freshly squeezed orange juice was a lovely bonus. Super Greek yoghurt. Pastries were varied daily and there were eggs, bacon and sausage always available too. Decent filter coffee but espresso, cappuccino, frappe etc. were available from the bar at additional cost if preferred. If I was being picky, I would have appreciated a greater variety of cereals (only cocoa pops and muesli) and, strangely, there was no toast available. On the whole, excellent.
The pool. Great for length swimming and a lovely temperature during our stay. Free towels available. A couple of times the sunbeds just about reached full occupancy. The space between them is great but a few additional sets may be a good idea.
Things we liked....
The room. A bit on the small side and the aircon wasn't the most efficient (strangely positioned facing the opposite wall rather than into the room), but generally very good. Small fridge which was useful. Bathroom again, a bit cramped, but well lit and with a powerful shower. Cleaning was very good with the exception of the supplied cups, glasses and spoons for tea making, which were not cleaned. A coffee machine would have been nice rather than just a kettle as I don't drink instant. The request for additional pillows was fulfilled instantly, however, the request for new batteries in the mini safe was not, so we could not use this. Nice balcony.
Things we were less keen on....
Music by the pool area. Admittedly this is a pet hate of mine. In an age when everyone has access to a phone and headphones, why submit everyone to music they have not chosen to listen to? Some days it wasn't too bad - nice Greek folksy stuff at low volume - but generally it was standard chart pop music played way too loud. Hardly conducive to relaxation.
Generally a great experience - just a couple of points shy of a five star review.
One last thing to keep in mind. We are limited to school holidays due to my wife's job and whilst the hotel is not an adults only establishment, we did think that as nearly all of the rooms are doubles and the vibe is one of chilled relaxation, there would not be many (if any) children present. We were wrong, and although the kids there during our stay were all well behaved, there was still the inevitable splashing, shouting and use of inflatables. This is no criticism of the hotel itself, or the families present, just a word of warning to anyone thinking of booking for total peace and quiet. Our error, not theirs! Yammas!

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location
A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location - it's modern, clean and the breakfast was lovely. It felt great value for money and delivered a relaxing, special holiday. The sea view was spectacular and was as visible from the bedrooms as it was the pool. The pool itself was great - plenty of space, also spotless. In terms of location, the walk down to the sea was 8 - 10mins, and the walk to the town / beach / local restaurants was 15 / 20mins. Methoni itself is a small, quietish town - plenty of good places to eat, and some nice boat trips are available but if you're looking for lots of touristy activities, it's perhaps not the place for you.

Outstanding - a visit is a must
Great location above Methoni with wonderful views. The hotel was outstanding. Levels of cleanliness were first class. The hotel was extremely comfortable. The rooms were a good size and great balcony with sea views. Bed was great and our daily cleaner Regina was just perfect. Our room was always sparkling after she had been in, and she was very friendly. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. Everyone went out of their way to make our holiday one to remember. Can't wait to return. To Efi, and all the team - Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable. David & Veronica ( 207)
