Surrounded by a lush garden and around 800 metres from Malia Beach in Crete, Malia Holidays Hotel features a spacious, free-form pool with a sun terrace. Guests can enjoy drinks, snacks and cocktails at the poolside bar.

Relaxing and welcoming
Please please read this review if you have read the negative ones and are unsure as I was, I am currently half way through a week's holiday and have nothing but positives.
Yes the negative reviews do highlight some of the things that are not fantastic, but they really by no means in any way take away from what a fantastic hotel this is!
First, let me address some of the things that people have complained about:
Breakfast: breakfast is fairly basic, but what is served is fresh, set in a lovely outside area of the hotel, with pleasant staff and good coffee. If you want to come to Greece and eat what you would at home, then there are multiple restaurants within a stones throw that will be able to accommodate whilst still staying at this hotel.
Rude staff: just because a member of staff isn't fully fluent in a second language, does not mean they are rude or miserable, the reception staff I have met always greet me with a smile and a hello.
Shower flooding:
The shower in the bathroom is a little strange in design I will admit.... There is a normal square water reservoir but the curtain goes length ways, meaning most of the water ended up on the bathroom floor. However the bathroom as a whole is set up as a wet room, with additional drainage in the middle of the bathroom, so although yes the floor did end up very wet when showering, it drained away in the second drain fairly quickly.
Tired pool area: this is simply not true, some of the umbrellas do have rips in them as mentioned, but these are small and not on every umbrella, to give a hotel a one star rating based on this is completely unhelpful to others looking at the reviews when considering their next holiday destination. Maybe if the Karen's of this world set their focus on world peace rather than a rip in an umbrella ruining their holiday then the world would be in a better place!
My review:
We are having a fantastic time at Malia holiday hotel. The rooms are fairly small, and there is an additional charge of 35 euros for the week for air conditioning that you should be aware of and 15 euros for use of the in room safe. The rooms and the hotel as a whole are kept spotless, with cleaning staff constantly making sure all areas are kept clean and tidy, this includes the housekeeping staff for the rooms.
The hotel is quite obviously geared towards people that want to experience Malia without the worry of having a party atmosphere where they are sleeping. Everything is designed towards this from the pool area closing at 6 to the relaxing music played at the main bar and the family friendly feel.
The hotel is in a good location, it is near enough to the bars and restaurants of the strip without being right in the heart of the noise, myself and my partner both mentioned the fact that once the balcony doors were shut, we could hardly hear any noise. It is also very close to the old town in the opposite direction with an array of fabulous restaurants.
The pool is a perfect temperature and the week that we stayed (late August) there were plenty of sun loungers available, although the staff did tell me that the hotel was full but they had a few large groups that were on day trips every day, so this may not always be the case.
A special mention to Mary who works at the pool bar, she has looked after us flawlessly for the time we have been here so far, always has a smile on her face and a friendly welcome

Great hotel.
Great hotel with air conditioning and a television in the room. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the ladies at the reception, who supported us excellently with all our concerns. Also, a big compliment to the chef for the excellent breakfast.
The only minor criticism was the shower, which was only separated from the bathroom by a shower curtain, allowing water to get onto the bathroom floor while showering.
The location of the hotel is excellent – right in the center of Malia and only about 1 km from the beach. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful pool area.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely love to come back. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Extremely bad
Apart from the "cafard ", very nice place and location. Though the woman who owns the place, is extremely rude. She basically refused my money because l didn't have any cash. My stupid bank Absolut with a call center in Maroc, told me to be patient, that l had to wait until the 8th of November to withdraw cash. So l ended up on the street last night ! I mean l checked in at 6pm ish. Came back around 10pm and she told me to f**** off !

Fine hotel right in the center.. turn right on the strip, cross left and you come directly into the oyd tavern.. all nice restaurants.. little mama mia atmospheres.. honor fine and nice price
Hotel: we had a room with good beds thick mattresses (but also understood that there are rooms with still wooden beds and thin mattresses
Breakfast is nothing, I found disappointing.
