Amazing hotel, above and beyond

This hotel was amazing, we had he most amazing time here, the hotel is perfectly situated between Laganas and Kalamaki, ideal to explore both resorts, the hotel is huge and very well presented, the food was amazing with a great choice for all tastes. They could not do enough for you, i am celiac and they went above and beyond to accommodate my allergies, would definitely come again, so friendly and help full.

Pleasant

We recently stayed here and overall had a pleasant, relaxing stay with a few positives and negatives.
The biggest positive was definitely the cleanliness. Our rooms were absolutely immaculate, and the housekeeping staff did a fantastic job every single day. The beds were made, towels were replaced daily, and everything was spotless throughout our stay.
The location was also great if you're looking for somewhere quieter. It was nice to be away from the busy atmosphere of Laganas, and it was only a short taxi ride to Kalamaki in the evenings, which was much more relaxed.
The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. We had an issue with noise outside our rooms (202 and 203), where the cleaners would gather each morning to smoke and chat loudly, which woke us up. After mentioning it to reception, they dealt with it promptly, so we appreciated that.
Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment was the food included with our half-board package. We only tried dinner once because it was so poor. The pork was so tough it was difficult to cut, and the choices were very limited, with plain pasta, rice with spinach and very little else. Breakfast was also quite basic and not really worth paying extra for. If you're considering half board, I'd personally save your money and eat elsewhere.
On the other hand, the food from the pool bar was really good. The gentleman working there was friendly, the food was tasty, the drinks were nice, and everything was reasonably priced.
The only other downside was the shower in the room. It was a handheld shower with nowhere to attach it to the wall, so you had to hold it the whole time, which wasn't very practical.
Overall, thanks to the clean rooms, friendly staff and peaceful location.

Enjoyed my time - take care of the cats please.

Illaria hotel means a lot of things: quiet atmosphere, big garden, spacious rooms, super friendly staff, goodd location (close to the airport, close to Laganas and Kalamaki). We loved the rooster waking us up every morning. The room was convenient, as we only slept there. The pool is big and well kept, nevertheless in October it was a bit too cold to use it. We only had a breakfast there, and, although repetitive, it was good. The hotel is run by super nice people. One advise I'd have for the hotel would be to please take care of the cats living there. We fed them throughout our stay and we hope someone takes care of them when the hotel is closed for the winter season.

Not a four star

This hotel is not a 4 star by a long shot. Rooms very basic. We tried eating there one evening @20 euros each, it was awful so I wouldn't bother. Simmona the receptionist was very welcoming and helpful as were the others not forgetting Thannos. Didn't have to fight for a sun lounger which was great, spiross made decent food at the pool bar basic but nice. Mattresses were 2 inches thick had to ask for another as my husband couldn't sleep properly and was in pain . Air con was free but does not go below 16 degrees. Which @ 32 degrees at night was tough. There was no entertainment and it was a 20 minute walk to kalamaki and a 10 minute walk to Laganas which looked like the slums. It was too hot to walk so we took a taxi 12 euros to kalamaki and 10 to Laganas which takes a lot out of your budget when you just need to go to a supermarket. Our stay was ok but just ok.

It is not a 4 star, at most 2!

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was far from the expectations of a four-star hotel.
I start with food: the buffet dinner offered a really poor and repetitive choice. In addition, the hygiene of the area where the dishes were displayed left much to be desired, so much so that I was often not confident to taste some courses.
The room was another big disappointment: we had booked a double bed, but we found two single beds joined, each with its own sheets. Result? Under the covers we were separated anyway. The pillows were very hard and the mattresses so thin (about 10 cm) to be really uncomfortable.
The bathroom, then, was a real madness: after just five days the chain of the window broke, and the bathtub was a disaster. Every time we took a shower with the bubble bath, the foam came out of a side vent and the bathroom flooded completely.
Finally, a note that left me bitter: the hotel has large green spaces where some kittens and a dog have taken refuge. None of the staff ever bothered to give them water or food; I even saw the kittens drinking from the pool water, a really sad scene for a facility that should have some level of attention.
