Serial returners

This is our 5th time staying here since 2023 and the welcome you receive can not be beaten. From Maria managing the hotel to Nikos, Miri and Christian running the bar, we were looked after every step of our holiday. The cook and the cleaners work tirelessly too to make sure we are fed, and we have everything we need in our rooms. Don’t listen to any of the bad reviews on here, see for yourself and book a holiday here. You will have the best time.

Definitely No Palace!!!!!

This hotel is definitely no palace, especially if you are a new customer and get shoved into the annex and the back of the pretty looking rooms. The room definitely didn't look like the pictures advertised on Tui website, the view from our balcony was amazing, NOT, looking at a wall and a fence!!!!! The room was very tired, run down and needs alot of TLC. The A/C wasn't included they wanted £90euros on arrival ( in August) £30 Euros for a safety deposit box and a further £18 euros for Greek tax!!! I understand they are running a business, BUT we had only just arrived and had to pay out all this money. It seems if you are a returning customer you get the good rooms as we spoke to a few families. Food was reasonable however small portions compared to other restaurants. Drinks wasn't cheap, especially cocktails of which again you couldn't taste any alcoholic seemed watered down. If you want a decent drink get yourselves to Busters Bar just down the road, Oli and Anna are the best and you get what you pay for. Pool and area was nice, no complaints there, easy to access a sunbed. If you do choose this hotel ask to be put in the main building and not the dungeon annex at the back of the hotel which was very disappointing personally I wouldn't return, but I guess each to their own.

Not recommended

As soon as we arrived we noticed the dirt in the pool area (in particular the sunbeds), once we entered the room there was a puddle of water due to the fridge defrosting and the receptionist asked us if we wanted the rag to dry it. That said, I report the following: dirty room (in particular the bathroom and I confirm the malfunction of the water), stained sheets (some even yellow), bedside tables with sticky spots, very poor breakfast, dinner with only one course (almost exclusively main course and side dish) with drinks excluded, the penultimate day no cleaning of the room and bathroom. Another sore point: the owner demanded payment in cash (only cash), the air conditioning was included in the price only because we had booked directly with the hotel (otherwise it is paid separately, 10 euros per day). The only positive note, the friendliness of Niko (owner of the bar/restaurant).

Another enjoyable stay

This was our second stay at the hotel. The first was a last minute booking and we had a great time. Our second was just as good despite the weather. We had a thunderstorm one night and there was flooding around the area. We literally sat in Nikos restaurant watching the road flood and some of the paths were under 6 inches of water. It was fun and everyone seemed to just accept it.
Yes the rooms are basic, we have had 2 different ones, but that wouldn't stop us staying again. We were self catering so only ate evening meals and they were good value. Plenty of good restaurants nearby too. If you want 5 star go somewhere. If you want friendly owners and staff stay here.

Disappointing visit.

We have been coming to this hotel for 11 years now and yes the rooms are basic and dated and there are sometimes issues with a lack of hot water and water pressure but we were always prepared to allow that because of the friendliness and attention of the owners and staff…..until now. We booked through VIO as I couldn’t get a reply directly from the hotel. I checked full booking terms and conditions including whether air conditioning was included in the price and it clearly was. When we got to the hotel they demanded €140 euros for two weeks air conditioning. I showed them the booking which clearly showed the inclusion of a/c but they said it was a mistake by the booking agent and I would have to take it up with them. When I indicated that I was very disappointed and was even after 11 years unlikely to book again there reply was simply’ that’s fine’ . After 10 days toing and froing with VIO they have finally got the air conditioning charge refunded by the hotel. This could have easily been avoided with a bit more help and a bit less greed on the part of the hotel.
