Located in Vimy, Belvédère is in a rural area and near a train station. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Scarpe-Escaut Regional Natural Park and Pinchonvalles Slag Heap, while Musée Militaire de la Targette and Louvre-Lens are cultural highlights. Loos Parc and Centre Culturel Évasion are also worth visiting. Breakfast was decent, with breads, cheeses, meats and yoghurts, plus fruit juice and hot drinks. The owner also offered to make us eggs if we wanted.
Beds aren't huge but were comfy enough. Shower was decent.
The property advertises having an "Electric car charging station on site". This isn't strictly true; it is just a standard french plug socket at the gate to the property; you will need your own charger. I asked the owner if I could charge my car overnight, which she said was fine but wanted 5euros to cover the cost of the electricity. I worked out that this was fair, as 12 hours at just 2kWh per hour would give around 24kWh of electricity. French default tariff is around 0.2euro per kWh. I explained I only needed about 30% charge, which was the 24kWh (I didn't have time to get more anyway). But in the morning I realised the owner had turned the power to the socket off overnight from 11pm to 7:30am, so I got less than half the charge I was expecting (and in fact needed to get home). So the owner should be more transparent about the fact that it's just a plug socket, and she should not turn it off overnight - if you intend using it, I suggest you confirm this with her in advance! She may not realise that all portable chargers will only give around 2kWh per hour, so they won't break the bank.
