Exceptional place to stay
Marie-Antoinette very professionally runs a beautiful, well looked after and nicely proportioned chateau in an easily reachable part of the interesting Ardeche. A lovely and very comfortable two days. Thank you.

Highlight of our trip to France
Absolutely exquisite experience. From the moment we arrived my family was treated with the warmest hospitality. The room was stunning, so much attention to detail, comfortable beds, and the views cannot be beat. We enjoyed a delicious dinner on the patio and the staff was warm and kind and very attentive. Cannot say enough great things about this gorgeous Chateau. Highlight of the trip and will definitely be returning.

An Ardèche nugget
After 2h30 of TGV and 1h30 of driving, it is good to get lost in the laces that wind above Vals Les Bains, this beautiful spa of low altitude, before arriving in front of the portal of Château Clément.
At the opening of the portal, we plunge into the 19th century when, in 1870, Auguste Clément, founder of the Eaux de Vals company, had a Second Empire castle built in the middle of a park that today houses trees more than 100 years old. An architectural jewel in its green setting, which became a prison during the Second World War, then a holiday camp, before being bought in 1995 by a family of hoteliers, the Rojon.
To accommodate our large family of 5 adults, we had booked the apartment and the garden suite, ideal choice in many ways. First because we were quiet: it is as if we had privatised a wing of the castle facing the forest. Secondly, because the apartment has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, an ideal configuration for 3 adults. Finally, because unlike the rooms & suites of the castle, this apartment and suite have been furnished and decorated in a contemporary way, in the former stables of the castle, with a good height under ceiling, vaults and stone arches on which came to be added large windows opening onto 2 large terraces of greenery equipped with garden furniture and a barbecue. The bedding is exceptional. The bathroom is extremely sophisticated: huge washbasin (a double would have been possible), powerful and gigantic Italian shower whose glass wall is inlaid with arabesques, Jacuzzi bath XXL, Nuxe products, bathrobes and separate toilets, whose sanded glass door could have been more waterproof. A great success.
Before going to dinner, we took the path to the heated swimming pool located on the west side of the castle. A bath of youth after 4 hours of transport by 30 °.
Then we went to dinner on the terrace of the castle which offers a beautiful view of the Volane valley. We were Welcoming read by the owner, Marie-Antoinette Rojon, daughter and granddaughter of hoteliers, who has a sense of welcome riveted to the body.
The hotel does not have an integrated restaurant but has a fruitful partnership with a restaurant in Aubenas who delivers meals worthy of a gourmet table: spritz saint-germain & amuse-bouches - foie gras terrine – bar piccata – cheese platter – raspberry tiramisu – sprinkled with an excellent Saint-Joseph Guigal 2012. Needless to say, terrace furniture, crockery, cutlery and glasses stand out for their elegance and sophistication. Everything is in unison, hand-picked by ... Marie-Antoinette, the châtelaine, who takes great pleasure in serving her clients, with her team, in a smiling, enthusiastic and professional Mood.
The next morning, after a sweet night’s sleep, in absolute calm, we resumed our place on the terrace for breakfast (served from 8am to 10am) around a nice buffet of fresh products and eggs prepared to order.
Then we walked down the winding track that crosses the park and leads to the center of Vals-Les-Bains, its park, casino, Olympic swimming pool and metal bridges that cross the Volane. Charming digestive walk.
We ended our stay with a visit to the castle, its living rooms, suites, and its majestic double revolution walnut staircase, its parquet floors, its earthenware fireplaces, its paintings, ...
The Château Clément is an exceptional family home where you feel very good right away because you are welcomed as family friends by the innarrable Marie-Antoinette and her team.

Unique and magical

Visit the enchanting Chateau Clement.
The Chateau is a dream to stay. The hostess, Marie-Antoinette, ensures that you get a carefree holiday. She is happy to give tips and advice on visiting the most beautiful places in the Ardèche to her guests. Occasionally a drink/dinner is organized at the Chateau where you get to know interesting and fine people which gives this place a magical touch.
