Order the pot a feu du poison - in advance

There's a secret here - if you order the fish stew the day before you go - they bring the best fish up from marseille the day of your meal - the best of it's kind and beats the overrated and hard to find bouillabaisse of Marseille.
Very friendly - casual but delivers with panache.

Great meals with wow factor

We stayed at Les Pines hotel for a week and had two meals at the restaurant.The young pleasant wait staff understand English but don't speak English very well at all but we muddled through ok.The first night we asked the waitress for her recommendation,unfortunately it was just a plate of jambon,we had to order a bowl of salad to accompany it. Tonight we had the restaurant specialty seafood stew menu paf 29 euros per person -absolutely wonderful. Dessert was a Royal -an absolute must. So pleased they had the heaters on inside ,overall very pleasant dining experience.

Brilliant food, charming service: and I'm difficult to please....

We have lived in the Var for 25 (!) years and this is by far the best value for money we have ever seen. The food is delicious, the daily menu (which, I confess, we always choose) at €14 for 2 courses and €18 for 3 courses is unbelievable value and the waitresses/waiters are delightful.
I can't believe that the people who didn't like the restaurant actually ate here! We have never stayed in the hotel, so can't comment, but restaurants like this - small, using only fresh ingredients which are prepared in the restaurant's own kitchen (yes, this is rare in France today) - deserve all the encouragement they can get.
We own a holiday rental property nearby and always recommend Les Pins to our visitors (who came from 14 different countries this year): without exception, they have been very happy with the restaurant.
By the way, the restaurant has an annexe which sells their own bread: it is also excellent.

A lunchtime meal that complemented a wonderful walk around the cascades

Sometimes a 'spur of the moment' decision works out really well and an unplanned lunchtime meal 'Les Pins' after visiting the falls made a memorable day for us.
The staff were polite and efficient and we were shown to a very nice table (spotless) in the middle of the terrace.
We selected from the 'menu du jour', the food was fine, well presented and well served.
So - for us one of those great days when everything turns out better than you had hoped !

Good food.

We dined here one night in July. We had tried to contact them for a reservation via e-mail but they never responded. They did pick up the phone when we called and still had a table for the day after.
Basically, a nice terrace and good food. We were 4 persons and 3 of us had starters. They surprised us when they offered the fourth person a little salad as well. Such a nice gesture!
If i remember correctly, I had the salade fraicheur with mozarella and a little brown bread with pesto to start with and a fish of the day as main course. So, a very nice evening meal.
One more thing: We had heard of the specialty of this restaurant which is a sort of fish soup (le pot au feu de mers, I think) and we intended to take it. This unfortunately was not possible because this dish and some others like the vongole need to be ordered in advance.
