Convenient for Gare de Lyon.

Clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was more than adequate. Very convenient for Gare de Lyon which was important to us but also just a 20 minute walk to Notre Dame. For the price we did not expect luxury but over all we were satisfied with this hotel.

very Parisian... nothing more

Located a stone's throw from Gare De Lyon, the hotel is tiny, with tremendous stairs and a dated elevator... the rooms are all in all comfortable and clean, the view very Parisian (roofs, roofs and roofs again); the receptionist was also very Parisian (horizontal striped sweater) and spoke English only because our French was not a native speaker.... all in all he was kind to keep our luggage while preparing the room... at night the area is really dark and not recommended (so much so that the night porter when we went out at 4 pm kindly closed the door behind us...).
It may be fine just for one night but, having thought about it better before, I could have stayed an extra night at the Ibis Hotel

Rubbish & overpriced

Very basic room & bathroom: no safe, no tea/coffee making facilities, tiny TV, no air conditioning, thin curtains and you hear every noise or conversation from the corridor or the other rooms...and the street as windows are not very sound proof.
There is a small lift but you still will need to drag your bag up 4 steep stairs (same at each floor).
So I would not come back or recommend to anyone.

Below average for this area

I stayed here twice (accidentally the second time) and both times I was disappointed. Staff is friendly and nice but unfortunately have poor English. BIGGEST downer is they do not have wifi Internet!! They only have wired cable plug-in. So your smartphone and tablet is useless! Rooms are just too...cheap. I only had one electrical plug for the whole room. The shower is a tiny corner with only a curtain that doesn't help keep out water very well. As a result after a shower your entire bathroom floor is soaking wet. Walls all just feel hollow - you can hear what's going on in the bathroom very easily. The floors are cheap laminate that feel hollow again and almost echo. As one other reviewer said "Spartan" is the perfect description. Cleanliness is fine though. Location near train station is good too. But not worth it for the price. Theres better cheaper hotels just around the corner in the same area.

Prix excessif pour une chambre de 3 (180€/ personne sans petit déjeuner) . Une des literies faite avec des draps mouillés donc impossible de dormir à sec pour une personne : c’est inadmissible pour le prix payé
Rideau de douche moyen et salle d’eau très très petite
Le seul bon point : l’accueil et la proximité de la gare
