Pearl of cordiality

This hotel was a wonderful find. It is a stone's throw from metro line 1 (which leads everywhere) and line 7. The Louvre is at a distance of 100 MT while the Palais Royal and its gardens are around the corner of the building. It is a dated building and the need for a refreshment is especially noticeable in the stairs and common areas.
The standards of Parisian hotels are different from those of Italy: tiny rooms and zero friendliness. This does not happen at the Montpensier hotel: we were in pairs but we were assigned a huge triple with two very large and well-soundproofed windows. The thing that struck me the most was the staff who speak Italian (nice to be able to communicate with someone who understands you!): of a unique friendliness, something difficult to find in wary Parisians. A heartfelt applause goes to Mrs. Emanuela who pampered us in every way, giving us maps and detailed explanations on points of interest and advice on places to eat. Plus, she was super efficient at solving a little problem. There is a lift (very small in Paris) and the rooms are air conditioned. We didn't have breakfast because I wanted to do it in a boulangerie but it's quite rich. You may not find cell phone sockets and refrigerators in the rooms but you will find sympathy, hospitality and lots of human warmth. I sincerely thank Emanuela and all the staff. You are the Top! I recommend it.

I was going with my teenager. A lovely hotel where the cleaning is perfect. It is close to attractions, metro and bus. Sweet employee.

Great value and location

Although only a 2 star hotel, the facilities are excellent. Reception staff speak excellent English and are friendly and check in and out was very straightforward.
We had Room 5 on the first floor which overlooks Rue Montpensier and so is very quiet. Its a very good size for a Parisian hotel with air conditioning and adequate storage space. The double bed was very comfortable and we slept well every night. The bathroom is clean and light and has a bath with shower over. Toiletries are provided and we had clean towels every day. There is a lift to all floors, its a real antique, but it holds two people with cabin bags, just. Breakfast is €11 per person and consists of pastries, bread, jam, cheese juice, coffee or tea. We never finished it. The location is fantastic, 7minutes walk from the Louvre, 18 minutes from the Musee d'Orsay and 5 minutes from the Palais Royal - Musee du Louvre metro stop. There are lots of excellent restaurants nearby and even a Franprix mini supermarket. Try and visit the Jardin Palais Royal nearby, its a beautiful and tranquil place in the middle of the city.
All in all the hotel represents good value for money.

A great location

- a perfect location 5 minutes from the Louvre
- a spacious and comfortable family room with a real bed for our son and a beautiful bathroom
- friendly staff

Strategic location, louvre 3 minutes walk. Metro stop to Orly Airport 2 minutes. Spacious room overlooking the main street. Very good cleaning. Friendly staff.
