Magnificent family stay.
We spent three nights in this magnificent residence. Sumptuous room.
A big thank you to Sabine and Fred, the hosts, who gave us a wonderful welcome. We also recommend Sabine's cooking, which is a true delight.
We will return with great pleasure.

The Domaine de la Tour d’Enguerne is a magnificent place: a beautiful, elegant, well-kept estate surrounded by nature. It is exactly the kind of place we had chosen because it is isolated and far from everything. Once we started our stay, we had a great time: beautiful structure, very kind owner and an experience up to the place.
Unfortunately, what happened on our arrival had a heavy impact on the overall rating.
We arrived around 3pm and only in front of the property we found out that check-in was at 5pm: rather unusual time and, above all, never communicated to us before. No email or text: we found out on the spot, from a sign.
Prior communication would have been appropriate considering that the Domaine is deliberately in the middle of nowhere, part of its charm. But when you arrive without knowing you have to wait two hours and out of the rain, that isolation becomes decidedly less romantic.
The gate was locked and barred and we stayed in the car in the rain. Given the level of the facility, we imagined that, without demanding the room in advance, we would at least be allowed to wait in shelter inside.
When the gate was opened, however, we were sent away in a bad way, especially by the owner's wife. We were told that they were not ready to welcome us and to return at 5pm, even suggesting that we “go for ice cream”.
Here's the thing: we weren't asking for an early check-in, but simply to wait. Being the structure isolated, we had to take the car back and spend almost two hours elsewhere in torrential rain.
Finally arrived at 5 pm, we discovered a huge estate, with beautiful halls in which it would have been perfectly possible to keep us waiting. We could have sat and consumed something, maybe a bottle of wine and an aperitif, exactly as we did during our stay: excellent wine and a rich and very pleasant aperitif.
And that's the paradox: after check-in the stay was fantastic. The owner was extremely kind, helpful and welcoming. We enjoyed the service, wine, aperitif and atmosphere. Special appreciation goes to the daughter of the owners, talented, very kind and professional. After 5pm we found exactly the hospitality we expected.
When choosing a property of this level you do not just choose a room, a swimming pool or a spectacular estate: you also choose a certain way of being accommodated.
Even the departure left us bitter. At check-out we met only the owner’s wife, who did not speak a word of English: we paid and left. The owner, with whom we had a very pleasant relationship, did not come to greet us. We would have appreciated even a simple greeting.
The place is unquestionably gorgeous and the stay, once started, excellent. But in a structure of this level, hospitality is an integral part of the experience, not a detail. In our case it was not up to the task and inevitably compromised the whole experience. A real shame, because with a different welcome it would have been a perfect stay.

Fabulous
Just fabulous, A fabulous plant in the truest sense of the word. Very elaborate and tastefully restored. A former estate of the Crusaders. We do not maintain the optimal travel time at the beginning of March. Nevertheless, the welcome warm and personal. We could also eat and have felt like the knights. Thanks to Frederic and His wife. We have rarely felt so comfortable.

Enchanting place
Warm welcome, splendid estate, original and very spacious room, top decor, aperitif outside, simple meal but all house with several tables for more privacy, exhibitions of old cars, small pool with deckchair in pairs and not next to each other, walk around the estate with bike loan, breakfast only French but good. Exceptional place!

Magical in every way!
Our time at La Tour d’ Enguerene was magical!
Sabine and Frédéric were wonderful hosts and made us feel like family.
The accommodations were beautiful. We stayed in Les Tomettes which was large, comfortable and romantic. Breakfast and dinners were delicious.
The surrounding countryside was stunning and provided many opportunities for exploration and activities.
Highly recommend and would certainly visit again!
