Very low-end hotel

AC half-working, sink that drains in 15 minutes, fire alarm that goes off in the middle of the night for no reason, bed not at all comfortable and for good reason, when lifting the mattress it turns out that underneath it's a wooden board and not a box spring. Fortunately, the breakfast was still up to par.

My experience with B&B HOTEL Avignon

My experience with B&B HOTEL Avignon was extremely disappointing and frustrating.
I had booked a two-night stay from April 24 to April 26, 2026. Due to issues with my flight ticket between Canada, Paris, and Avignon, I contacted the hotel by phone on April 15 to cancel my reservation, about 9 days before the arrival date. The receptionist clearly confirmed to me that the reservation was canceled and that no fees would be charged to my credit card.
A few days later, however, I noticed a charge of €125. After contacting them, the hotel acknowledged its mistake, apologized, and proceeded with the refund.
But the story does not end there.
Two days later, the hotel decided again to charge €125 to my credit card, without a coherent explanation. After several calls and emails, I was finally given as justification a supposed "no-show," which is completely contradictory to the fact that my cancellation had already been confirmed several days earlier.
The most shocking part of this story is not only the unjustified charge, but especially the behavior of customer service:
ignored calls,
calls hung up on,
lack of solution,
total lack of professionalism,
and refusal to acknowledge an obvious mistake.
I also specify that another reservation had been made separately by my brother, who indeed stayed at the hotel and paid for his room. Therefore, there was absolutely no intention on my part to maintain a fictitious or unfulfilled reservation.
I find this way of treating customers unacceptable. When a customer calls to cancel a reservation linked to their credit card and receives a clear confirmation of cancellation, it is unacceptable to be charged later under the pretext of a "no-show."
After this experience, I strongly advise against this hotel to anyone looking for a serious, honest, and respectful establishment.
Be very careful with the charges made on your bank cards and keep all your communication proofs if you book at this establishment.

Je vous remercie d'avoir pris le temps de nous faire part de votre avis.
Alertés par vos remarques, nous avons fait intervenir une société de désinsectisation afin d'inspecter la chambre que vous occupiez, ainsi que les chambres voisines. L'expertise a en effet révélé la présence de punaises de lit et les chambres ont donc été traitées et le caisson du lit changé.
Cette société nous a expliqué que la présence de ces insectes n'est en rien liée à un manque d'hygiène ou de propreté sur l'hôtel et qu’il n’existe aucun traitement préventif afin de combattre ce fléau.
Nous vous présentons toutes nos excuses pour les désagréments occasionnés,
Nous vous remercions de nous avoir alertés et espérons vous accueillir de nouveau dans de meilleures

The person at reception was unpolite and did not speak a word of english, spanish, italian... only french and had no education to speak slowly or try to make himself understood.
Room was hotter than an oven, the upper part of the room was way to hot to stay there.
Toilet eas broken.
Only positive points are that bed was confortable and ine can park for free
