Where you can stand the heat
This was our second visit, though last time was 11 years ago, when it was under different management.
The campsite is in an elevated position above what would have been the Dordogne river but has been dammed to form a lake for hydroelectricity. It is quite extensive with a wide variety of accommodation and plenty of emplacements.
It was very hot when we were there and the pool was very much appreciated. There were plenty of umbrellas to provide shade and although the paving around the pool got so hot that it would burn your feet, they encouraged people to enter the pool area in flipflops and wear them up to the edge of the water. It would have been possible to swim in the lake but with the heat in the afternoons we were glad not to have to go down the slope and back up again afterwards.
Bread could be ordered at Reception for the next morning and there were some local items on sale there. There was a bar and sometimes they did food, but it was rarely open, presumably as we were early in the season.
We stayed in a good-sized, well-equipped mobile home in a quiet, shady location. Vehicles are not allowed next to the accommodation, but they provide trolleys at the parking areas for you to wheel your luggage to and from your unit. There was a disabled unit, the parking space for this being quite close.
Although there was no aircon in the mobile home, there were two electric fans (and heaters). Washing up liquid and cleaning fluid were provided. There was a heated towel rail in the bathroom. The showerhead fixing only had one possible position, which wasn't directed to a useful position, but the showerhead could be lifted out and handheld.

No dishwasher, medium bedding, ant invasion: we had to buy some ourselves to put in the Ottawa cabin, dishes a little greasy and poorly washed before our arrival, mixed review

Disappointed
3rd time at Huttopia and 3rd time Mixed Processing of the Camper in Tent! 1st time, a pitch which riquiqui between 2 other pitches, 2nd time, a pitch almost 400m from the sanitary and water points and 900m from the center of life, the 3rd time at Lake Siauve: despite the payment of the "tax" choice pitch, a small pitch, full sun 24 hours a day, full wind with sandy ground. By heatwave, it's unlivable, by storm and rain either. Spend the day standing your equipment, checking your digging sardines, ....Huttopia is not responsible for the weather, but responsible for allocating sites according to the equipment and providing sites not degraded from the ground (not flat, with exposed roots and sand) without separation from the nearby site. Despite our request for a change, even on a lower level of service (sic!) (= without the lake view), there was nothing to do, no change possible and we felt taken for a headache. However, it is 3 times that we find that the Dutch people who overcrowd the Huttopia always have the right places... At Lake Siauve, there is also a lack of sanitary facilities and they are difficult to access (hence my choice of place when booking, because I experienced the delirium of the 400m in the Drôme!) but the shade, at Huttopia, we do not care). No stairs to go down, ravine paths (in flip-flops, it's great for ankles!). Too few water points to fill its jérican with water, too far away...go carry your 10-12l of water uphill or downhill!
Luckily there was the indoor pool, but very sound, with little Dutch free to do anything even what is very dangerous. We deplored the lack of room for indoor deckchairs (rain all week!) and its location away from the center of life. But anyway, we were satisfied with it.
Finally, the bread and croissants are not great, but given the lack of bakeries in the area, the campsite cannot be blamed for having little choice for its merchandise.
Luckily there was the indoor pool, but very sound, with little Dutch free to do anything even what is very dangerous. We deplored the lack of room for indoor deckchairs (rain all week!) and its location away from the center of life. But anyway, we were satisfied with it.
