The hotel is in an historic building. There are a few common areas, one a library of books the other is a kitchenette. The staff were pleasant, the sheets / towel clean, not too much insulation in the walls, but I had a good sleep.

Good stay.

Very nice hotel well located in the center of Chalon sur Saône for 2 nights. However, the housekeeper was more than intrusive; even after putting up the small "DO NOT DISTURB" sign after the first night, she took the liberty of entering without even knocking and came to wake me up.
The welcome went more than well; I thank Marine again for her kindness and positive energy. Thank you to you, aside from the housekeeper, I highly recommend this establishment.

Dilapidated hotel, just pass by!

The reality is quite different from the photos!
Outdated rooms with very limited hygiene, shared toilets on the floor, mold in the bathroom. No breakfast on site; you have to go to the bakery on the pedestrian street. But that is not the worst; you just need to be aware of it.
Room reservations are not managed in advance. You are given a "random" room upon arrival. We found ourselves downgraded. We booked a room with private facilities, but we were assigned a room with shared toilets because "it's the only key left; I don't know where the others are."
The window hook was broken, and we had to rig it to be able to close it.
The highlight of the experience was the bed's foot, which was broken and replaced with a stack of books.

Deplorable

It's true that the staff is doing their utmost. But in the last five days, I've changed rooms four times. Sick of it. I'm not coming back.

Run away! Outdated rooms, bathrooms out of safety standards (switch above the sink with risk of electrocution) so-called bike reception (actually parked in the seating area so pretty in the photo), reception not planned before 6 p.m. in the evening, kitchen in poor sanitary condition, fridge unusable...
