Second visit still wonderful

As the title says this was my second visit we enjoyed our stay so much the first time . This time we had the self catering unit , but still Charles kindly got us great fresh bread for breakfast , it was just as peaceful as the first time and again a quirky immersion into the French countryside . We took bikes and cycled around the local area which was just stunningly beautiful and the roads so quiet it was just a brilliant experience , Caroline and Charles gave us suggestions on the best routes , we will have to go back next year

Travel through Europe

We look for quiet places outside of villages and towns.
Here we definitely found it!
Quiet, charming old farmhouse, a little bit south of Auch.
We were well taken care of by the owners, including the dog and the cat. A pleasant night sleep, cool, quiet and dark! And a good breakfast before traveling on.

Domaine a Marmande, Peaceful and Beautiful

We passed 12 restful days in Domaine a Marmande. We stayed in one of the two gites (fully furnished apartments). Our gite was cozy and charming: wood-burning stove, comfortable bed, complete facilities to cook "at home." We visited the other gite and two chambre d'hotes (bed-and-breakfast units): all were equally well-furnished, pretty, comfortable. The grounds show loving care; although well tended, they have an air of being free- butterflies, flowers, vines, bird song. There is a swimming pool, which we did not use, due to cool weather; however, we saw Charles, one of the owners, care for the pool every day. Marmande is an historic place; we cherished every minute of our stay, and felt embraced by a sense of peace and rest. Charles Aronson and Caroline van Berkel, the owners, are gracious and generous people. They love the Gers, and will share information about visiting the historic and enchanting towns and castles of the Gers. We have to go back to Domaine a Marmande, because we love this place, and its aura of rest and well-being.

Chilled out B&B

Laid back BnB in the heart of some beautiful countryside. Booking at late notice Charles n Caroline graciously accommodated us in the main farmhouse in a family room upstairs. Like many other places in the locale the property has heaps of character and is a nice place to chill out whilst the kids enjoy the pool. Lovely little villages are nearby to explore and great eating opportunities too! If ur the type of person who needs their holidays sugar coated and scheduled to the very second, then this place probably isn't for you. I'm not and I'm glad places like this exist.
