Quirky, modern, comfortable

Modern ground floor conversion of an old terrace town house well-situated in the maze of very narrow streets close to the Papal Palace. Very well-equipped with excellent wi-fi, laundry and other kit. It suited us well as a base for visiting Avignon on foot and, using train and bus, the surrounding towns and rural areas. It was lavender time. Quiet corner of town but easy walking distance to the busier areas including supermarket, the main food market, and many restaurants. We were provided with the proprietor's recommendations (he is a chef by profession) and the ones we tried were good. A small square near the apartment provided less-exceptional bars and restaurants if we felt like staying close to home. Mme Andrieux was friendly, helpful and responsive. She kept in touch and helped sort practical things like taxis. Excellent holiday. Recommend the new direct train from London.

Home Away from Home

It was our first time to Avignon and our host was thoroughly welcoming , warm hearted and always eager to help. She even researched some bus and train schedules for us and provided some really practical touring advice for us Avignon first timers. When we departed, she also organised a taxi for us as she knew the nuances of the local taxi companies.
We were a family of four ( 2 kids 13 and 11). We stayed for 4 nights. The apartment was comfortable, well appointed and and Ideal base to explore surrounding areas . Being so centrally located made it easier to explore and get to know the Historical centre of Avignon at a more leisurely pace. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A bientot...

nice apartment, great location

We feel fortunate to have found this cozy apartment for our 3 day stay in Avignon. More spacious than staying in a hotel room, it was a great value for the money. The location was perfect, on a nice quiet residential street...though very close to all the action in the center of town.
Newly renovated, the apartment is very comfortable with all modern conveniences (we especially liked the Italian coffee maker). The owner was very accommodating and provided good suggestions for nearby restaurants and shops; she made us feel very welcome and our stay was quite enjoyable.

C'est un ami , en Avignon pour affaires, à qui l'on avait proposé cette location à défaut d'une chambre d'hôtel disponible qui nous l'avait recommandée . Et il a bien fait ! La première bonne surprise était déjà la disponibilité et la gentillesse des jeunes propriétaires qui ont tout fait pour rendre notre séjour confortable et agréable ! L'appartement est très joli , super-propre, bien équipé , parfait pour un couple , bien pour 3 personnes et - pour un séjour court - aussi pour 2 couples . Nous avons beaucoup apprécié aussi son emplacement très central dans la vieille ville , à deux pas des principaux attraits touristiques ,des restaurants,cafés et commerces.,
Notre séjour en Avignon a été vraiment très réussi sur tous les plans - et si l'occasion se présentait d'y faire un autre séjour , nous logerions à coup sûr dans cet appartement dans la rue St. Catherine!
