A most comfortable stay
Huge room, modernized bathroom. Bed was most comfortable. Our host was delightful; had to use google translate but communication was lively and informative. Stayed only one night--in transit between Annecy and Paris--so had to leave before breakfast. Host made dinner reservations for us at Un Air de Famille--one on the best meals we had in France!

The worst hotel we never stayed at
We booked this accommodation through Booking.com on the clear understanding from its listing that it is a hotel providing breakfast and private off-road parking.
However, on the morning of our arrival whilst advising our arrival time we discovered that it is actually an airbnb that makes a £26 cleaning charge and offers absolutely no on-site catering - despite inclusion in its listing of reviews lauding its ‘superb breakfast’.
We nevertheless proceeded as planned and following a 200km drive we arrived just before the agreed arrival time of 17.00 at a very shabby and tiny double wooden gate set in a crowded maze of narrow city streets.
However, upon ringing the bell we received no reply and we continued waiting and ringing until forced to move on by the growing number of cars behind us.
Whist waiting we physically measured both the very narrow gate entrance and our car from which we quickly concluded it was quite impossible to drive our car through the gate even if we had been able to turn it through 90 degrees in the very narrow street.
We temporarily re-parked our car in an adjacent square and unsuccessfully attempted to make contact by telephone
Finally, in the absence of any reply, and being unwilling to park our car containing valuable possessions overnight on a meter in the busy street, we searched online and found another hotel offering private parking just a few kilometres away.
As parking on the Villa Ribiere site precludes anything bigger than a small hatchback the owner should make this totally clear within the booking site.
The owner should also remove all ambiguity by making totally clear that it is an airbnb and not a hotel, and does not offer breakfast.
However, despite much subsequent correspondence with the owner and Booking.com the owner finally refunded just the cleaning charge and local taxes.

Stunning!
Oh my gosh! This is just the most stunning setting! Sandra & Sophie the perfect hosts. Our room was beautiful, so clean, well equipped, spacious, everything we needed. Decor was fantastically thought through. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt so relaxed and comfortable. We loved it and really didn’t want to leave!

The place is scam
Mystay at La Villa Ribiera was a disappointment. I booked a two-bedroom suite, but they gave me a one-bedroom room instead. When I pointed it out, the owner first denied it, but when I showed her the booking details, she admitted the mistake and said the place was fully booked, so she couldn’t do anything. During our conversation, she even admitted that what they did was basically fraud. Super frustrating.
Even without the fact that the property is a scam, I would never choose it because the furniture was sketchy. There was this big glass countertop just sitting on top of some wooden boxes, and it partially blocked the entrance to the bathroom. We kept bumping into it, and it felt like it could’ve collapsed at any second. It was not safe at all. Plus, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The breakfast was barely anything, and the bread was old. I really regret staying here. Total waste of money—don’t bother with this place.

A very sympathetic, beautiful house on the edge of the old town.
The whole Villa - interior and exterior - is extremely carefully and tastefully renovated and furnished.
In addition - although right on the edge of the old town - one in wonderful peace
can sleep , not to mention the fantastic view of the church of St.Pierre.
We will be back!
