This is a very basic place to stay close to the beach, and it's the value proposition that makes it worth staying here. The rooms aren't big, and most don't have a bathroom, and in the early evening the place can be a bit noisy. But the price is right, the staff is friendly, and it's easy to get to from the airport. It's one of the few Fijian-owned hotels in the area. There's also a supermarket at the end of the block.

The people at Ideal are lovely - so nice & welcoming.
However, this hotel is more of a hostel. I thought
I had upgraded to a private room to insure I would have a private bath. That was not the case. The toilets were down the hall & the sinks were in the hallway. There was no tv, and the only mirror in the room was about 10”x8”. There was no internet access in the rooms. It was only in a common area on the grounds.
The included breakfast was cooked to order. The hotel was a 5 minute walk to the beach.
I didn’t need a posh room for my brief trip - but this was unacceptable.

A Charming Alternative to Nadi’s Big Resorts
My wife and I spent the first half of our honeymoon here in Nadi. We wanted to find a more budget-friendly option than the high-end resorts while also trying to get more connected with the local vibes.
The Ideal is located near Wailoaloa Beach. You'll need a taxi to get yourself over here. Right down the street is a farm-to-table restaurant and supermarket. On the other end is where you'll find the beach club and the beach. It really is a great location if you're wanting to spend time at the beach for a day or two.
The staff overall were delightful throughout our stay. We made a booking mistake through Booking.com, and the front desk maintained contact with us as we were discussing our trip details before we landed. We really appreciated their flexibility. They even had their own personal driver come try to find us at the airport for pickup because they thought we were running late. Extremely thoughtful of them!
When staff overheard that we were staying here for our honeymoon, they made our bed and made two swans with flower petals. It was so kind of them.
The Ideal offers breakfast every day. At the time of our stay, they had the same menu, offering an omelette with sausages, bacon, pancakes, and a separate plate with assorted fruit. They also had milk, freshly served fruit juice, and hot coffee. The B&B could improve by making the breakfast offering clearer with signage or by directly telling patrons. During our six-day stay, our pancakes and sausages were a bit burnt one day; otherwise, the meals we had there were terrific, but the same each day. If you're planning to stay for an extended time (3+ days), I would plan around preparing your own breakfast once or twice if you mind having the same breakfast for a few days in a row.
They also run daily afternoon tea with cookies and biscuits (the same ones they offer during breakfast). To our surprise, on Sundays they make a big lunch for guests, and all the staff of the B&B eat together and socialize. My wife and I unfortunately had already made lunch arrangements for that day, but they gave us two whole plates of leftovers. If we had known about this activity beforehand, we would have planned around it!
During our extended stay, we often used the Ideal's own personal driver and taxi service. They were very flexible, and we thought their price was fair, especially with the peace of mind of knowing they were directly employed by the Ideal.
We truly created so many great memories here. Please do yourself a favor and spend a night at the Ideal. You really won't regret it.

Really is the Ideal bed and breakfast!
we spent 2 night here at the end of our trip and wish we had stayed longer! if you're like us and cant stomach the prices of the resorts (and would prefer your money went to the locals rather than foreign millionaire business tycoons!), then this is the place for you!
Its run the the LOVELIEST people in Fiji (and that is quite a competition) who could not do enough for us!
the room was more like a whole apartment - tonnes of space, lovely and clean with a huge comfy bed
the breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious, with maybe the best omlette I've ever had!
the location is perfect, a short stroll away from the beach with all the restaurants and close to the pick up point for most of the trips to the port
our highlight was our day spent touring Nadi with Vera that the B&B offers on our final day before our flight She took us to the market, the gardens and to the mud spa and we had such a great time hanging out with her - Thank you Nana Vera!!
even though we had technically checked out earlier that day, they still gave us tea and buns and busicuits when we got back, and offered us a shower, towels and a place to relax until they took us to the airport!

Cute Bed and Breakfast near the Nadi airport and Wailoaloa beach
Cute Bed and Breakfast near the Nadi airport and Wailoaloa beach. We enjoyed the communal breakfasts and relaxing vibes during our stay. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the transportation help around the island while we explored. It was a quick (and safe) walk to the beach club down the street where we enjoyed live music and tasty bites.
