Long weekend in Pârnu, Estonia

I had the great possibility to visit Pärnu, Estonia last week, and i stayed at hotel St. Peterburg
The hotel was easy to find, 200 meters from the bus station
The hotel can be described in one word MEDIVAL
The rooms was beautiful, and bed very soft
To find the restaurant was a little bit challenge.
From my room, I had to go to the reception, up to first floor, follow the signs through the other end of the hotel and go down some stairs
Not very handicap-friendly
The restaurant looked like a pirate wine and rum bar. I was almost waiting to see Jack Sparrow coming for brekfast
The food and drink was served in and on clay plates, cups, and glases

Disappointed

The location is very good close to the shopping center and Ruutli Street. Free parking in the courtyard was especially good. Breakfast was not so good. Only yogurt, two types of breads with fillers, fruit, coffee. The room it's dark not to much lights.
The bathroom floor was flat and the water was along the floor. Bathroom lamp was hung on a cord from the ceiling. Cleaning was not so good the last resident's sock under the bed. So it was corona
time, but them must do much if They want we come
again.

Points for the location and breakfast

Location is very good (between shopping center and old town) and all the places are in the walking-distance. Breakfast was good and basic: porridge, yogurt, two kinds of breads with toppings, some fruit, coffee. Very ascetic room, according to expectations. No minibar/air conditioner/hair dryer. Bathroom had high humidity and no heating, so after a shower it did not seem to dry completely during next 24 h. After one night, we noticed no cleaning (bed was not done, trashbin not emptied) but one towel from the bathroom floor (floor couldn't be wiped with anything so we had a towel to dry our feet after a shower) was disappeared but not replaced. After that, we had only one hand towel which began to smell quickly in the moist bathroom.

Charming hotel with reasonable price

St Petersburg Hotel is set in a remarkably old building in Pärnu old town. Decorations are charmingly tacky and the feel is the opposite of a modern hotel. Not good for anyone who has difficulty climbing stairs, this hotel served us two adults perfectly well.
It was a cold, rainy three days, so the fact that air conditioning seems non-existent did not bother us that much. Air did not move but we were not hot nor cold. The standard room was spacious and plain but had character. Small window and wood beams with old-fashioned furniture made the room cosy. No frills, no paintings on the walls, but everything was clean and freshly painted, bathroom seemed freshly tiled.
There was no hairdryer although it was promised and one of the light bilbs was missing.
Staff were friendly and wore medievalish outfits and breakfast was medieval style, too, which I found charming.
I would rate this hotel three stars and good value for money, but it is definitely acquired taste. Had it been a hot couple pf days with no air conditioning, I might write differently.

All worn off

Terrible place to stay, didn`t even unpack. All worn off from wallpapers to curtains, spotty walls and carpets, hair in bed..
Do not recommend unless the location is crutual. Located in the very center, and can be loud.
Would suit for a party stay of youngsters.
