A hotel for nature lovers

We have frequently stayed at Hotel Mangrove Bay in recent years. The main reason is the very good access to the sea, as the large bay is sheltered from the wind. There is also no stirred-up sand. The facility is covered with palm trees and other plants; there is no grass here. The beaches with the palm trees are exceptional for Egypt.
Enough has already been said about the condition of the hotel; we can live with it.
That’s why it’s also 4 out of 5 points.
We will come back.

Relaxation and Caribbean beaches

Lovely and relaxing place, without animation. International clientele. The resort has 2 beaches, one with mangrove and the other with palm trees. It feels like the Caribbean. There is then a small pier for docking boats or to get off for snorkeling and diving. The staff is very friendly and at the reception they also try to learn Italian. Bungalows on the beach right in front of the sea are fantastic

3 days of relaxation

This place is perfect for diving/snorkling.
Very quiet, without animation and you sleep divinely! All are very kind and really professional.
Unfortunately there is no ATM where you can withdraw cash.
I thank all the staff for your help.

With the right expectations, whatever!

So .. it's a difficult review , I thought it a lot, but in the end it's right to give 5 stars.
Let's start by saying that after 1 day I checked to change hotels, because I wanted to escape. But then slowly I entered and managed to understand how much hotel, a guy had told me after about 1 hour of my arrival: RELAXATION AND MEDITATION.
Forget the hotel with buffet breakfast with a choice between 60/70 different things.
Here are eggs, omelets, some warm beans, such as vegetables, fruit and biscuits.
Ditto lunch: choice of 3 dishes: tuna salad, falafel and a third thing that changes every day. Usually rice and chicken, rice and meat, or liver, sometimes spaghetti with meat sauce (inedible)
Dinner you find a little more choice.
I point out that I have never complained about eating in Egypt, even in resorts where many criticize the food, I have always said that it is better for these people to stay at home. It may seem like I'm criticizing here, but then you get used to it. Few things, but not badly done.
There is no animation. So in the evening you come back to your room, just power to do some outside at the almost nearby beautiful port galib.
The crazy beach, it seems to be in the Maldives, the photonic barrier, the dive center done well,
Cleanliness of the rooms sufficnete.
So ultimately: if you are looking for a place to relax 1 week go there, but keep expectations low. You may find yourself sitting at the table missing your glass. You don't die, you ask and they'll give it to you with a nice smile.

An excellent choice for snorkeling

Coming mainly for snorkeling, I particularly enjoyed being able to practice it from the south beach, and from the pontoon, for long hours without restrictions, as is often the case in other Red Sea hotels. The bay is well protected from the wind and is probably one of the best sites in the area, as evidenced by the diver boats stopping there and the number of divers coming from outside to the hotel in the dive center, very well managed by a German diver and her Egyptian colleagues.
The hotel is human-sized and has a large, competent and friendly staff. Breakfasts and dinners are buffet style, varied, healthy and include many vegetables and fruits. Lunch can be taken in the form of snacks (fries, burgers, spaghetti, tuna salads) in front of the sea, at the dive center, in a well-shaded and ventilated place. The comfortable rooms are well air conditioned, equipped with a safe, a small refrigerator, a TV and comfortable beds, as well as a table and storage volumes. The garden, possible thanks to irrigation, is well maintained. In short, an excellent Price quality ratio for snorkeling and/or diving enthusiasts. My main surprise is the very low number of customers in late August - early September. The WIFI works properly at the reception. Because of its instability in the bungalows - which must be common in hotels in the area - I recommend buying a SIM card at the airport or elsewhere, as I did, if you want to enjoy the Internet.
