Very good motel - good service and great breakfast!

I stayed here with my family in july 2015, staying one night passing through. The motel is located just outside Ebeltoft, and a short drive to the closest convenience store. The rooms are large, clean and spacious compared to other motels. We could easily fit a baby cot in the room, and our four-year-old loved to be accommodated at the loft.
We had a room facing the parking lot, allowing us to easily carry our luggage from the car to our room through the glass door facing the parking lot.
The breakfast was very good, with a nice selection.
The staff is vey friendly and service minded.
We're coming back!

Shocking customer service

We arrived as advised in our email/ booking at 1900. We did not get any code for the box with key, nor anything to allow us to get inside. Our luck was that another guest let us in. We then tried to call the number provided at the reception and also emailed the hotel. We even looked up who owned the hotel to try and find an alternative number as no one was answering. Waiting 10, 15 maybe as long as 20 min is acceptable, but we waited 45 min!!! When the guy came down to serve us it was without any apology or anything- just a quick "oh I saw your email, I guess I better get you guys a key". Shocked of the lack of attempt to offer some kind of compensation or appology I was direct enough to ask if it would not be fair with some kind of compensation- to which we just got "no, you will pay full price". We then wanted to check if breakfast was okay at 0700, and we got told that in the high season breakfast is not served before 0800. There was no suggestion for any take away breakfast or anything... the guy just left as if we had been a pain for him. In our room there was just one lonely tea bag and rarely have we felt so low. Well motel ebeltoft, it was not a pleasure and we will not be a pain for you again and our company will find another place going forward. Shocking is almost a compliment! Det var pinligt!!!!

Comfortable but too far from the town centre

We stayed here on a Monday night in February and we may have been the only guests. The manager was not resident and returned in the morning to organise breakfast, which was reasonable. The motel itself is comfortable, but basic. We managed to get a taxi to the centre of Ebeltoft, but very little was open and we couldn't get a taxi back after 10pm so had to walk the 2 miles.

Somewhat impersonal, ok for one night

For a motel this place is situated in a rather quiet area, no through road, but nothing around except a holiday cottage area nearby. The rooms are clean and spacious but have a floor with a gravel stone texture which doesn't really create a cosy atmosphere. Housing technology such as fridge ( in the family room with kitchenette) or bathroom fan are quite noisy.
Breakfast is offered in a canteen style with a coffee vending machine (no charges during breakfast time), cheese, cold cuts and fruit are presented on plates covered with cling-film, rather strange!

Pleasantly Appointed

This was a very pleasant room in a motel with quiet surrounds. The buffet breakfast was quite satisfactory. It was outside the town, so the places of interest required a drive of around 5-10 minutes, but as we were not there in high season, parking was plentiful.
